September DFW Meeting

I know it's early but we had started talking about September's DFW Meeting. The first Saturday is Sept 4th which is Labor Day Weekend.....do we still plan on having a meeting that weekend or pushing it out to the following Saturday, September 11th? I'm volunteering to plan the September meeting if no one else minds!

Gary Morris 08-09-2004 07:44 AM

Stacey....from memory...we usually proceed with our meeting dates regardless unless there is an event that we will all be attending...such as the AER show...that we usually let that be our meeting since we will all be there anyway. What do you have in mind for a place. It's early so most people won't pay attention until it gets closer...BUT...by all means go ahead if you like. Thanks for stepping up!

Gary

sounds intriguing, Stacey!

I'm all for planning ahead....

Don't know if i'll be there, as it's bloody Kill the Doves season....

I'll try....

Off topic: Stacey, you will never BELIEVE who is my next door neighbor.... we kid each other about our loud vehicles, his is a motorcycle, mine, well the Cobra. He came over on Sat. to borrow our tall ladder, and I told him I'd been to our monthly breakfast. He said he knew somebody else into the Cobra thing, and said you guys. I said I'd just seen ya'll that morning! It's, it's, Bruce Blay!!! Says ya'll go way, way, back. Small world, isn't it?? :)

I vote for lunch in Sept!

Mrs 66 Snake 08-10-2004 09:16 PM

Gary,

It's still going to be rather hot then. I remember Daphne's Sr. Labor Day parade when it was 108F. And the trip to the hospital after due.

But I think you secretly just want to show up all cool and comfortable and rub our noses in that new car of yours. ;)

392cobra 08-25-2004 07:13 AM

Stacey,
I bet you have been glad that we have been having below normal tempts for most of the summer.

About 2 months to go ??

Gary Morris 08-25-2004 08:02 AM

Well it's a little over a week away. Stacey.....whatcha got in mind for our September meeting?

Update

I'm thinking 8A at Cafe Brazil on US75 in Richardson....they have outside seating. Thoughts?

427Aggie 08-25-2004 12:10 PM

Nice and close for me and Mr. Sharpata but 8am? Whats the temp suppost to be in September....isn't it time to move back to lunches?

Matt

mrs.noland 08-25-2004 12:46 PM

According to weather.com the Friday before is suppose to be 84 but that's with thunderstorms. I don't have a problem moving it to lunch.....but you know Texas weather! If it's moved to lunch time, we'll do somewhere other than Cafe Brazil.

Anyone else want a lunch meeting vs. a breakfast meeting?

Gary Morris 08-25-2004 01:30 PM

Stacey...it's your call. You stepped up and took the meeting so it needs to be what suits your fancy. That's the advantage of taking the meeting. Personally I like either. Early AM gives you the rest of the day to goof off where as lunch takes up half the day....BUT...We'll be there regardless!!!

Decisions...decisions!!

hey,littlecobra 08-25-2004 02:47 PM

what's the difference??

the first saturday of September is the same temp. as the last Saturday in August, and they are both hot. Keep it at breakfast, just my .02 cents worth. Things don't start cooling off til the first saturday of October! But, I don't know if I can make breakfast or lunch, as it's Dove season.
More later....
Kristen

Mrs 66 Snake 08-25-2004 03:08 PM

I agree. Alan just now complained how hot it is. I corrected him and told him for August it's pretty darn nice. And that this is September weather.

Although I just checked the weather for Sunday and it's supposed to be a high of 84F with some scattered T-storms. So I'm not really sure that this IS Aug. ;)

Not worried about the heat

Looks like I'll be able to make this one.
Can we make it earlier in the morning!!!!
I'm usually up at 5:30am, Or do some of
the Cobras have a lighting problem too.:D

Mrs 66 Snake 08-29-2004 07:21 PM

No Rich - it's a sleep problem. Or rather a getting awake problem. Some of us have a bit of trouble dragging our tails out of bed on Sat. morning before 9AM. Not that I'm one of those mind you! ;)

ERA600hp 08-31-2004 05:47 AM

See you there!!
