Aggie Cobra getting BIG upgrades
Well as some of you know, I have been debating if I would switch the Aggie Cobra to EFI. Well all decisions have been made. She is now undergoing MAJOR reconstructive surgery.
First I had decided to just unbolt the 6 duce and bolt on the efi stacks. Then I started to think about it and figured while I was at it I might as well redo the wiring in the engine compartment since I never really liked the way I had it done. THEN, I decided that maybe i should clean up the Aluminum panels of the engine compartment. Well to do that I really needed to remove the panels and to to that I would need to pull the engine.....SO out comes the engine. As do the panels...then someone goes out and buys some polishing compound and a buffing wheel....now we got all kinds of trouble. Now I'm looking at the engine sitting next to the car minus the intake and I say to myself, "boy do the chambers of those edelbrock heads look a little rough". So I figure now would be a really good time for some Keith Craft heads....so off come the heads and I pick up the phone and now I have new heads on the way. (old heads will be hitting ebay soon). Double check with Wayne at Very Cool Parts and he tells me that my stacks should ship tomorrow or Wednesday. Since I plan to go distributorless with the efi system, out come the MSD Billet Distributor and the MSD 6AL....(also hitting ebay soon) Now since we know the car won't be going anywhere anytime soon, I decided it was time I redo some things in the passenger compartment as well. Out come the seats, steering wheel and dash. I have to say, that the people over at summit sure seemed happy to get my credit card number again. I really think they missed me. You know this is just like building a new car, only I have a head start this time and know at least a little more about what I'm doing. Who knows what I'll decide to do tonight....wonder how long it would take to get all the paint off? Just kidding :D :D Pretty soon I going to wake up and realize that I have to put this thing back together again. And I expect a call from my banker any minute now. Never fear, it will be back together for March in Austin....keep your fingers crossed and wish me luck. |
Dennis, you Da' MAN!!!
WHOAH..............
I guess you are going to really do your best to bring 2005 in with a BANG, Dennis old boy! Geez, all it takes is MONEY,MONEY,MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, and a little bit more MONEY!        Did you bet a small fortune on Tech & Texas, or was it the LOTTO??? I can't wait to see this beast!! John R. |
 Kinda funny how one thing leads to another! Post pics when you get this reconstructive surgey done.
|
That should spice it up nicely. I can't wait to tinker.

Way to go Dennis!:3DSMILE:
This should make the "Aggie Mobile" the envy of us all! With Wayne's stack system and all the other "goodies" what a ride! Can't wait to see it! Terry |
Dennis,
Will you do mine next? Keep us posted, sounds like with all the changes its going to be like having a new car. |
Dennis, might I suggest a new paint job. How about burnt orange with white stripes? 8-) Seriously, sounds like a lot of fun is on your way. Also think of all the airline miles you are earning with the upgrades! Only $25K in purchases to get a "free" trip. Can't wait to see it in Austin.

John, watching the OU game it looks like my funding may be in jeopardy...knew I shouldn't have put all the $$ on them.
Can't wait to get the system on and running but there is a ton of prep work still to be done. Sorry James, can't go with the orange. One orange car in south Texas is far too many. I will keep you guys informed as to my progress (or lack thereof) Football seems to be getting in the way of me working on the car. |

David that car is looking awesome! I think you got me beat hands down as far as cobra make overs! Can't wait to see it in person.

Reminds me of how I started out to just do a little engine work last year and ended up doing a complete swap out. Make sure to give some pics.
Waynes stacks are a work of beauty and he can even do custom powder coating as well. JQ |
Toys are starting to arrive
Look what I got today!!! Now I get to take it apart and send the intake and throttle bodies to the polisher in the morning.

FFR Cobra Getting BIG Upgrades
Dennis, My FFR is also getting BIG upgrades as well, I'm getting four new tires. That's all I can afford! :3DSMILE:
|
Came home today and finally bolted the new heads on to the block. Decided to see how everything would look all fitted together.
I have to get a new timing chain cover since the one I used is for a truck and the bracket I had made for my crank trigger sensor fits the regular car timing chain cover. That is going to delay me a few days because I'm going to have to have it chromed once I find it. Here are some pics http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...MG0447-med.JPG and http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...MG0452-med.JPG |
 W-O-W! That is VERY nice, can't wait to see it back in your Cobra!
|
Hey Dennis!
