So what showed up in the way of cars?

Time to move the USGP back to Watkins Glen where it belongs...
...aside from Michelin's hissy-fit-----there was ALSO apparently an issue of the track resurfacing at Indy. Additionally, there were yahoo-baboon types throwing beer cans on the track. Yikes! F-1 has handed its detractors a free ride this time. I'm sorry to see this. Krikeys, all they wanted was a lilttle chicane in one of the corners #13?. Indy officials were willing to do this and the FIA ruined it........
Michelin ought to fined or banned for pulling out (they were the ones who showed up with the wrong equipment).... FIA/F-1 is going to have to table all the prissy political horse-shyte--let the machines and the drivers be the show..... So much for F-1 in the USA. They have Champ/Indy* cars at the 'Glen----why not F-1? *I can't keep these guys straight..... |
Correction, then addition......
..I meant to say "Michelin ought to BE fined...."
To the three others who are actually watching this charade.....did you see Barichella and Schumacher (the latter coming out of the pits)? Who-eeeeeee! Announcer said "there's no love lost twixt the two..." H-m-m-m-m. Time to get the FIA and the manufacturers to the table...... |
Fred-Michelin asked if they could bring in new tires from their France facility.FIA said no.Michelin had a fix but the FIA refused it.Sorry-but this debacle rests solely in FIA's lap.
|
This F1 fan shows his displeasure with the Indy race.

Bill, You right, o' course. Gotta scare 'em somehow. I honestly believe that they will eventually destroy F1....Although they are trying to get rid of a lot of the automatic driver's aids.......Still, let's get rid of the FIA's undiluted grasp......
Crank......I agree with that guy! I also like his shirt.... |

Would you prefer just to throw the rules out the window because one of the largest tire companys in the world can't figure out how to make a tire work on a corner that's been around since 1909? Don't give me any crap about resufacing - the Bridgestones worked. I can't believe that Michelin teams couldn't have adjusted their aero and chassis set ups so as not to eat through tires. That's what Ferrari had to do as Bridgestone tries to make a longer lasting tire. F1 ain't NASCAR. Everybody isn't supposed to be equal. Michelin didn't do their homework. F1 ain't public school either. When you flunk, you get an "F". There's no social promotion to the next grade. Michelin should refund all the fan's money. |
So by "sticking to the rules" you get this result?F the rules.
They are cutting their noses off to spite their face. There were two options: 1-let them get another set of tires and race. And continue building a F-1 fan base in the states.Which is PARAMOUNT to F1's future. 2-stick to a subjective rule and risk a disaster. FIA chose #2 and the ensuing debacle kicked them square in the nuts. If they chose #1-everybody wins. With the exception of the drivers who would have finished 2nd & down.FIA chose to stick to the book for the sake of sticking to the book and completely ignored what the best interest of the sport would be. And if you actually were watching, you would have seen the LR tire on Schumacher's car had a SIDEWALL problem as did others. It wasn't a wear issue. Once again-i stand correct. |

Stop watching NASCAR. I |
Then, was it a setup problem?
|
Bridgestone tested tires on a banked tracks at Rockingham (England) and Indy. All but two Michelin teams were at Silverstone instead of testing tires at Indy. Whose fault is that?
|
Sounds like a Michelin problem to me then. You can't fault Bridgestone for doing their homework!
|
I think, just maybe, you are correct!
