Hi again, guys. . . .

The plan is to get together at around 10AM at Applied Racing Technology. We plan on grilling some food, having some soft drinks, but if you want to bring some beers along, suit yourself. Gregg said he's got some tables, but I'm not sure what we'll do about chairs. If you've got portable fold-up chairs and want to make sure you'll have somewhere to sit, you'd be wise ladies and gentlemen to bring them along.

We'll probably test a few cars FOR FUN just to see what improvements folks can make to a handfull of cars. This is NOT a dyno day. Dyno Days are a lot of work, and aren't much fun for me since I'm the guy who spends the day dirty and busted looking. Instead, we'll let people who are interested in having their car on the dyno FOR FREE put their names in a hat, and we'll draw out one at a time and see what we get. Remember, this is primarily a social event, and an opportunity to learn about what a good dyno operator with a great dyno (shameless plug) can do to help you and your car.

SO, if you want to have your car on the dyno, make sure it's ready to do so. This means make sure you've got plenty of coolant and engine oil BEFORE you get there. Also, make sure you come with an open mind, because very few people's cars make as much power as they THINK they do. The purpose of the dyno is not to bolster egos, it is to find ways that a car can be made to work better. If you want to learn something about your car, this weekend is a great opportunity.

We are also inviting some Miata owners (hey, I've got a Miata and I'm building a Cobra) so play nice. I expect that there will be a handfull of folks with other types of cars as well, mostly race cars. The guys from Applied Racing Technology will most likely talk about some racecar suspension setups, engine blueprinting, etc. It will be a lot of fun, and we hope that you'll all find time to come by. The address for the event is:

Applied Racing Technology
115 E. Saint Elmo
Austin, TX 78745

I hope to see you all there!
