Registration of ERA in Collin County, TX

Hello. I know that there's alot of information on this forum on registering Cobra reproductions. I am considering moving to TX and am in the process of building a new ERA 427SC with a late model engine build on a Shelby reproduction side-oiler casting. I am wonder if the car will be registered in the year it was built or as a 1965 roadster which the car is a replica of? Also, I am interested in what the process is for completing the registration, titling, etc. Thanks and sorry to ask this question again.

SSSammy just finished his ERA registration here in Collin County. You do have to register it as the year built, but it is a replica so you go to the state inspector and get an exemption. Follow his thread here http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/texas-cobra-club/82223-dallas-cc-engine-drop-wednesday-pm.html
