Asking for the newbies :)

Maybe it's already been written here somewhere .. but is the $30 fee required of car-less attendees in order to get a nametag? I see we may use that as the meal ticket for the three buffets. Or how do we intend to handle them?

I'm ready NOW!

Registration Fee???

Sammy,

The $ 30.00 registration fee is charged to offset some of the costs of hosting this event - e.g. parking lot security - clerical fees for nametags, packets etc.

I guess it's not required if you don't have a car with you...........but, it would be gratefully appreciated if you plan on attending the event.

All of these events are non-profit and the cost of hosting them mostly falls on the club members at the host site.

Thanks................looking forward to seeing you next month.

Freddie....Bring Richard with you

Freddie,
WHEW!!!!! You had me worried my friend!
I hope you could hear the "H@&* Yes" at home the DaLLAS group just let out! Hey, drag that rascal Richard with you, & just so you know...we have some mighty fine Whisky and Whiskey here for you and I know your brand of choice so call that covered!
Since both John & Lyndsie are now in school at UT-Austin Mary has started coming with me, and Club changes we have made with Thursday, Friday and Saturday night parking lot dinners is a real hoot!
Hey, please give Doug a call and it would REALLY be a blast to get Dennis O. to make this trek!
Man, you really don't know how glad I am to see your post!

OK, I don't want to create a problem but how did we get to $30 for costs. I thought security was around $300 a night. If we get 75 cars again, that's over $2,000. I sure don't have a lot tied up in nametags. Do we really have $1100 in the packets and the website? Just curious because I thought the $20 we charged last year was enough. If I'm missing something, just let me know.

Thanks,

Colleen

We should have the car finished just in time for the event so 33autos is signed up and bringing our Unique 289 FIA!

Registration Fee??

Colleen,

The tailgate parties that have evolved at the meet the last couple of years have been paid for with funds donated by the Austin, Dallas & Houston clubs.

In order to make sure that only those people and vehicles registered will be allowed to take part in the tailgate parties, we will include within the packets this year ticket stubbs ( meal tickets, if you like ) which will enable us to monitor this 'free meal' situation.

Additional monies left over from the registration fees after your expenses and the packet expenses will be divided evenly between the Austin, Dallas & Houston clubs to help defray the expense of hosting these tailgate parties.

Hopefully this will help to answer your questions.

I have to admit the extra dollar was added for the processing I use (paypal) everyone seems to want a cut these days. I think it is actually 1.10 and I can cover the extra .1 for everyone **)

Mrs 66 Snake 03-06-2008 10:47 PM

Cammer,

Thank you for clarifying. That sounds like an excellent idea!

Send Money, Guns and Lawyers...

Yes....as Warren Zevon (RIP) said..."Send money, guns and lawyers....the sh!t has hit the fan!...

Most of you know I'm in the computer business with a certain air freight company, headquartered right here in Memphis, whose logo colors are Purple and Orange...maybe you've heard of us. Well, we had an ISO 9000 Lloyd's Quality Registry audit scheduled for this week....we just didn't know when for sure. We were expecting it this morning and came in all geared up to meet with the auditors for the next two or three days, and so on.

Instead...we got an email notice they would be here on Thursday and Friday, 3/27-28.....THAT'S THIS THURSDAY AND FRIDAY...!

Guess who won't be in Austin again this year...? :(

Mrs 66 Snake 03-25-2008 12:28 PM

OK, I make a motion that we re-open the discussion of moving the annual meet in Austin out of Austin.

And have it in Memphis.

Freddie, this just isn't going to work with you not being here. We really need to find you a new job. (And it's not like I don't *heart* the purple and orange - did well by Dad). But they're really messing with your free time. And us. And that's just not cool.

We'll miss you. Be thinking of us while you are enduring that lovely audit.

hey,littlecobra 03-25-2008 03:10 PM

Didn't get him polished and tidied up today. maybe in the morning. Maybe while i'm sitting on my butt in the parking lot with nothing to do.... at the hotel.

Getting ready for this trip has not happened. I hope i make it to Austin with my toothbrush!! I just don't have time!!!! :(

I'm whupped.
