Mid Feb Cruise?

It's off-schedule, but the weather's supposed to be nice, anyone up for a cruise?
Saturday works better for me.
Bwana suggests Sonic at Coit/Parker. Sounds good.
This Sunday is also Gasoline Alley's Car Show at TGI Friday's Addison from 1-5.
Some Pappa's BBQ (35/NW Hwy) might sound good.
Decatur's big swap meet is this weekend too.
Thoughts?

Miles:
Here is a suggestion...
In Decatur there is a restaurant on the South West corner of the square called "Sweety-Pies" owned by the "Babes Fried Chicken" group. I've eaten there twice and the food is GREAT! Plus, It's member weekend at Eagles Canyon Raceway...just 10 minutes north of Decatur on Hwy 51. Maybe Jim W. or DB could arrange some observation laps for those interested.

I wish I could attend, but I'm still in the recovery mode from major left foot reconstruction surgery. I'm out of commish until March 15th. You all be careful and have fun.

Joe Wicked 02-19-2008 10:03 AM

I'd love to join, but this sat is my sons B-day and we have a bunch of stuff planned.

Bwana Snake 02-19-2008 10:29 AM

Miles,

TIG Fridays sounds good to me, 1:00 – 5:00 Sunday. Decatur is a little far away for me, short on confidence with only about 150 miles on the car.

I only live a couple of blocks from the Sonic so if you are anyone else wants to cruise in on Saturday evening just set a time, I need to build miles before Austin so I’m game for almost any thing.

I'm still waitin on my cam to come in. Maybe today??

SSSammy 02-19-2008 12:11 PM

Count me in!

Sunday is better for me, as the car needs work, but I might be done by Sat. Figure out what works for the most people. I don't think I'm ready for Eagle's Canyon this week tho'.

hey,littlecobra 02-19-2008 07:00 PM

no....... not this time......
off to Aggie Land!!!

jdean 02-19-2008 07:08 PM

Would love to, but I hope Jim and I are firing up his engine by Saturday.

jrussell 02-19-2008 07:42 PM

We can't make it...other plans.

Bummer!
I am taking the family to North Star Dragway in Denton on Saturday for the Nostalga Drags for the Texas Thaw...all pre-64 cars, bikes, dragsters, etc, etc, ...just like I used to watch in West Texas growing up in the 1960's.
All vintage cars, Gassers, front engine Fuel cars......Woo, Hoo, I can't wait!
John & Lyndsie are coming home Friday night and we are all going up for the day.
Catch Y'all another time,
John R.

Sounds like Sunday it is.
Let's crash the Gasoline Alley car show at TGI Friday's in Addison - SE corner of Belt Line and Tollway- from 1-5.
They usually start showing up promptly at 1:00, judging at 3:00 and probably be over closer to 4:00. You park right in front of the patio. Usually about 20-30 cars. Nice folks.

Bwana Snake 02-20-2008 06:55 AM

Why don’t we meet up a little before hand and cruise in together.

We have you, me looks like Sammy haven’t heard from John Ross yet but sure he will roll, FST Fox has no engine probably have to count him out. I will call Francis the new SPF guy he lives pretty close to my warehouse. Nick, new guy in Plano who drives a Hurricane ? Backdraft ?, lives pretty close by but don’t know how to get in touch with him.

Gary

Madmiles442 02-20-2008 01:05 PM

Even though Patrick doesn't have an engine, he could do the Fred Flintstone thing!

Francis 02-20-2008 06:55 PM

I can make it this sunday. Where is the starting point? I may be hard pressed for the entire 4 hrs, but I'm sure it will go by pretty fast.

PARKERPOWER 02-21-2008 01:03 PM

I think I would like to join you fine gentlemen.
Richard

Joe Wicked 02-21-2008 02:11 PM

Sunday, I may just be able to tag along with someone. I'll have to wait to see on Friday night when I get back in town.

nick_esposito@t 02-21-2008 06:56 PM

Gary,

You've got a pretty good memory. I drive a Backdraft and I live in Plano and wish I could be there, but I'm in Washington DC through Monday. I appreciate the invite. Maybe next time.

Love it!

How about Chuck's Hamburgers on the NW corner of Coit and Arapaho? They used to have car shows there last year. Big parking lot, restaurant overlooks it.
Meet there at 11:30-11:45, eat at 12, cruise at 1:00.
Sunny and 66, should be GREAT!!

Bwana Snake 02-22-2008 05:44 AM

Chuck’s works for me count me in, 11:30-11:45 Sunday.

Joe Wicked, give me a call Sunday morning. There is only about a 20% chance my wife will go if she doesn’t you are welcome to ride shot gun, unless you object to sitting on a milk crate and using hemp rope for a safety harness. LOL

Gary

Madmiles442 02-22-2008 03:50 PM

Bring the hemp rope anyway - I'll bring a lighter!:LOL::LOL:

Bwana Snake 02-23-2008 10:26 AM
