Thought I had Trailer Envy

With the wet weather I could appreciate having an enclosed trailer.
That is until the trip back home from Austin. With an enclosed trailer I would have missed all the "That's a Bad-Ass Car Dude"s And like Paul Cass said earlier, the occasional girl gone wild! :) :)

Maybe a trailer that allows you to take the "enclosed" part off when it's not raining. Something light, versitile and aerodynamic.

I remember seeing pictures of the Shelby race team using open trailers. No mistaking them.

Tony,
It sounds like you are talking about a Serpent Express. I understand the cover is removeable and the all aluminum version weighs 1,100 pounds.

Jody, that's right. That trailer was invented specifically for a Cobra. It's great having the option to go either way. Not sure about the aluminum weight, but is sounds about right. Even the steel one is extremely useable. I've got number one that's almost 5 years old.

Tony,
My 16' aluminum SE is ordered and should be ready in about two weeks.

Has anyone seen a GT40 on a serpent express trailer.I like the idea of a lightweight trailer with that neat zippered side window. (GT40 doors swing wide as you know :D) Also, how big a deal is it to take the cover off? How long does it take?

Eric,
I have been told it takes a couple of hours to take the cover off and is not something you want to do often.

Eric:

I have a GT 40 under construtcion and a Cobra. I just ordered the 14' Serpent express. We carefully measured and both cars should fit neatly. (The Cobra is actually a tiny bit longer). There is a chance that GT may have to go in backwards to maintain the balance, but I am assured that won't be necessary and we should be able to balance it well front first. Should have it around first of July, after which I can report further . . .
