Kristen..... sell your kids!
|
Kristen and Steve...
Sell the kids??? we have to be careful these days with the kids. My boys have a shirt and it boldly states "PARENTS FOR SALE -Buy One Get One Free". We're toast as parents. Francis |

I have had more than my share of dealing with those issues. Some of them are just plain stupid! I have NO PROBLEM with the ones that actually make sense but good grief. It is like these clowns didnt have anything to do one day so they decided to create a new rule.:CRY::CRY: I always had the best luck with a third party doing the review and inspections. |
Hey Steve ... are you responsible for any of these architectural gems?

Ahhh, Colleen you remembered. My friend Dave and I designed that McDonald's a few years ago. The article you linked is incorrect. We didn't design Disney's corporate headquarters, but I wish we did. Michael Graves from Princeton designed the building with the seven dwarfs (little people). If you remember our conversation, I call that our "6 pack design". We designed it while downing a 6 pack of Heineken. Here's a conceptual sketch of one I did for Roswell, NM. It didn't fly (get it? Fly!!) because of cost and it was too soon after 9/11. But I thought it would have been even better that the Montfort project. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d..._McDonalds.jpg |
That Roswell one rocks. You have great design talent Steve.
|
yep, That is cool.
I do understand about being too soon after 911 though. We all lost a lot that day. |
Steve,
Just curious but have you done any others like this? I like it. You should have been one of the designers on that Discovery show "Monster House". |
Joe,
I don't consider it talent, it's more insanity. We did come up with a McDonald's "play place" with a sinking pirate ship. It was built in one of the north metroplex citys. But someone said it didn't turn out very well. |
Care to share where the pirate ship is? I don't have much reason to tour area Play Places these days so the chances of my just running into it is a little slim.
Oh, and remember that building in Murphy you designed that had such a rocky time getting going? It's done. And half filled with tenants. Boy, was that a long haul, huh? |
Colleen,
The pirate ship is in Little Elm. I have a concept sketch of it, but I can't post it because it's a "PDF" file. Again, Dave said it didn't turn out too well. As far as the Murphy building goes, I don't ever want to see it again. That was the worst experience I've been in. The developer stole money from everyone. |
