does hallett close the gates fri night with no entry or exit?

is the $15 gate fee charged to all entrants or is there a way around that for drivers who participate?

thanks

Hallett gates close at 10pm, at least they did last year. No entry or exit after that time

And that is exactly why I'm not participating in ANY events, to me, it's a rip-off, but thats just me.

For everyone else, hope you have fun!:3DSMILE:

But in defense , this has always been one of the best run events in the country. Been going for over 25 years. Prices have increased over the years, but what hasnt?

$200 entry fee for one day of fun, i might have to bring my lawnchair and do sim driving!

SSSammy 06-20-2009 05:12 PM

You guys have totally glossed over the fact that for the $40, you get a souvenier hat pin and an event t-shirt! And your Hallett admission gets you entre to the Team Shelby Souvenier Truck and, and .. the Hallett Snack Bar, and OMG .. 114 octane gas .. leave your first born with the large smiling gentleman with the tooth, please :LOL::LOL: It's a one of a kind event, I love it!

Randy, you are welcome at the Texas Corner all the time and we don't give a dam about credentials and we will give you beers and a weenie! Come see us!

Hey everyone Im just getting the ducks in a row no complaints here?? Mary is coming also can she get into the pits for the gate cost of 15,or does she need the 40 entrants fee also.Im good to go on my end Mary still has to ask off, but im hoping to leave fri afternoon soo we can hang with you coool cats :)

Clois Harlan 06-22-2009 06:27 AM

She can get in the pits just fine for the $10 or $15 fee. Dean and I will probably be at the bottom of the hill since we are going to be later getting to the track this year. Are you going to try and race with the Vintage cars on Saturday? Looking forward to seeing you again.

Clois

Randy don't take this wrong but the price is fair! Road America, Mid-Ohio, Autobahn in Chicago, is over $200 per day. Even Run n Gun is close to $200 per day! On a certain track I have paid as much as $300 per day to do some HIGH SPEED TOURING. I think I paid $135 per day at Hallet for Thur and Fri and $145.00 for Saturday when you get to run the track backwards with fewer cars.

If you have never raced or done any High Speed driving the value might not be there for you. It is all a matter of choice; a Yugo will get you where you're going but it is a lot more fun to make the trip in Corvette, Jaguar, Cobra, etc!

Mark,

Hallet allows camping at the track and you can stay as long as you want but the gates will close for security reasons around 10:00PM- 6:00 AM (I think)?

Clois,

I can understand the extra fee for the track events, no problem there, but I only wanted to put my Cobra in the show on Sunday and was told I still had to pay the $40.00 Participation fee on top of the $25.00 registration fee to enter the show.

Maybe I'm just cheap, but I can't see spending $65.00 to have my car in a show, unless it's going to a good charity.

SSSSSSammy, Thanks for the invite, I might come over Sunday as a spectator, if I do, I'll stop by & say "hi"!

Hope you all have a great time.:)

Hey Clois is that vintage race have another charge with it ,It would be fun to do.I see they have rules for each group but darned if I can find them we were going to run group1 race preped, I can always go for more track time, but being the first time ther I just need to get some seat time at Hallet before I let it all hangout.:-0
