October Dallas Meet

Lets try this again.

My suggestions are Champs in Addison or Cafe Brazil off Josey and GWB.

Thought I'd try and start it again.. even though I haven't been in awhile.

These are only discussion openers.

Brian

Oh.. I am building a new 428 CJ for my Cobra .. Its time I moved up to the big block.

Bwana Snake 09-28-2009 03:07 PM

This is way, way earlier than normal we usually don’t start this until Thursday, Wednesday night at the earliest.

I was going to suggest we go back and do a dinner deal at Lefty’s Lobster and Chowder House in Addison. Danna, one of the owners, told me a couple of weeks ago that if we came back she would do a lobster special for us.

LuvDaBlues 09-28-2009 05:26 PM

MMMMmmmmmmmm..... lobster!!!!

October meeting idea

Gentelmen,

A thought for Saturday's lunch; A short run up to Tioga, (NE side of Lake Ray Roberts) to Clarks Outpost, one of the biggest shippers of mail order barbque in the country, fun atmosphere and a nice ride but no lobster. Your thoughts?

Richard,

This vidio was of our last cruise to Clarks Outpost. The only problem we had was John Ross blowing all if the rocks out of the parking lot into our cars with his exhaust.

is anyone planning to go to Goodguys at TMS this year? I am planning to go saturday afternoon

snakebittexan 09-29-2009 12:54 PM

OK, it was a good idea, just a little late!

RR

Bwana Snake 09-29-2009 01:22 PM

Richard,

I have no problem going back to Clarks it was a great cruise. The weather should be nice and we could even head on up to the lake.

cgsincc 09-30-2009 06:22 AM

A cruise to Clarks sounds good to me.

snakebittexan 09-30-2009 08:49 AM

If the rest of the group concurs where do we stage for the drive up?

Might be pressed for time on Saturday...

I might be a little pressed for time this Saturday, but all options sound appealing at face value otherwise,

Champps Addison - Our October Meet (Good Guys Weekend) last year was at Champps and a few of us cruised out to the the show at TMS in our daily drivers afterwards. Good time was had by all in attendance at Champps with the big variety menu. Gary Sharpata offered some nice Ford Merchandise door prizes and all of us enjoyed College Football on the multitude of screens. A lunch gathering here would be welcome, allowing time for other obligations, and be reclined in place to watch the A&M v Arkansas contest being played at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. 1st preference.

Clark's Outpost - While I was absent for it, the last cruise to Tioga started at the Filling Station Bar & Grill on Preston Road just south of George Bush, with the route being charted by Mr. Reyburn... something like Bush West, DNT North, 380 West, 377 North. It would take some serious schedule juggling on my part, and in the end I might be out, but we would be home in time to watch A&M v Arkansas from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.... side note: Early during the planning for the last cruise, we had a "nice" discussion of Colorado Rainbow Trout, elegance and inelegance, and out-of-staters traipsing through our Texas threads (much like the Alloy CSX4000 -Kirkham v Shelby - thread that you all are reading so intently in our backyard.) We might pull a special guest or two on this deal. 2nd preference.

Lefty's Lobster - A grand time was had by all (except Don W) as we kicked off the new year. Any pull Gary has with the mat'r-d is wallet welcome. They are normally only open for dinner on the weekends, unless Gary can get us in for a special lunch-hour. Lunch or dinner gathering here would be welcome, but we would all miss the A&M v Arkansas contest from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, if a dinner engagement. 3rd preference.

FACTS:
jshel1 is an Aggie.
There is no rain in my forecast until the late night-hours of Saturday.

Has hockey season started already? :JEKYLHYDE

I have plans for Saturday mid afternoon through the rest of the weekend so lunch is best with me. I don't care where we go, hopefully I will get the west siders to cruise out to the spot with me.

I can not make lunch on Satuday tied up until about 2:00.

Dana, one of the owners at Lefty's, will open for us at 4:30 but not for sure about lunch on Saturday. She will do a lobster special for us if we let her know Thursday afternoon.

LuvDaBlues 09-30-2009 11:40 AM

Again...... MMMMmmmmm ...... lobster. 4:30 arrival and home by 7:00 for the #8 OU vs. #17 Miami game. (Better than #? Aggies vs. #? Hogs in the "Death Star")

That's my vote!

October meeting

I'm in, I just "feel the need for speed!" Ok, that was from TOP GUN, one of the best movies ever made to watch on your home theatre at full volume--but I digress. You name it and I'll be there!

damdfw 09-30-2009 02:26 PM

I'm in or maybe out.

I am booked in the morning but should be able to make a lunch or dinner. I may run a little late to a noon lunch.

jshel1 09-30-2009 08:11 PM

"Slider, you stink."

I will try to make whatever is the consensus.

I had heard that being #10 was better than being #8. So if a team in the top 5 drops and Miami squeaks a win, would Miami be the new worse-off #8 and Oklahoma be the new, better #10?

H-Rod 09-30-2009 10:35 PM

I missed last month`s lunch, and I`ll miss this months lunch. (be out at Good Guys) :3DSMILE:

HOWEVER, I will make Novembers get together. Not only is my B-Day in November, but Dave (DamDFW) owes me a ride in his CSX. :3DSMILE:

You didn`t think I`d forget now, did ya`?

LuvDaBlues 10-01-2009 07:43 AM

Good one John. What's up with the trash truck?

OK, it's Thursday. Who's making the decision?
