Anyone have a Valley 911 removal tool for sale
 
Has anyone had experience with this expensive but perhaps life saving gadget? Got a KO I just can't get off. arggh. thanx steve

Stuck Spinner
 
Saw this old post today and noted you were in Houston.

Did you ever get the wheel off and how.

Had the same problem with a Backdraft and had to cut the wheel off. Seriously. Could not locate a 17 inch used Backdraft wheel for the front and had to purchase all new ones. Went to lug bolts.

Hopefully you had better success than I did.

The spinner was fused to the wheel.

Hi Nathan. Yes, I've always gotten them off, BUT it can be very, very difficult. One thing that has helped fairly consistently is to have someone in the car with the brakes applied to the max. I've used the expensive mutha thumper hammer, i've used a small sledge hammer smacking a really hard (treated) 2X4 and i've used a truck axle nut with a 3/4" ratchet and a 6' cheater. None have worked consistently, and all have worked sometimes. Not sure if anti-seize helps or not. Have ruined more than one Trigo Spinner. You may have already tried one of these but I have used mine for years and it has worked very well. One time I had one that I couldn't get loose and I just tightened this tool and then tapped it with a lead hammer and then tightened some more and it broke the spinner loose and it has never made a mark on my spinners.

that tool was my next move, but it's expensive, but less than cutting off one wheel and having to buy a new set! s

... and since I took this video, I upgraded the size of the feeder hose and fittings. That made a nice little improvement. :cool:

WOW! a 1000 ft/lb 1/2" impact wrench is amazing. I have 750/3/4 with a big hose and fittings, still wouldn't budge the spinner and marred it up badly. No more. Granted, I didn't have a nice, cool and well fitting socket like you, but still was futile and destructive. s

You could try a torque multiplier with a 3/4 drive socket

I recently removed all 4 wheels to bleed the brakes and the 9-1-1 tool was worth
every penny. Load some tension, smack with lead hammer, add more tension and it is a done deal - didn't even distort the hammer. Before putting the wheels back on clean mating surfaces thoroughly and put anti-sieze on said surfaces.
Makes all the difference in the world.

Hi Patrick - I have FIA wheels so the 911 tool will not work for me. Where did you get your removal tool? I could not find a post with that information.

Finding a competent machinist to cut it and mill it can be difficult as well. :(

"Spinner Eaze" is the key. Plus regular maintenance entailing loosing the spinners and applying a thin coat of the Spinner Eaze to the spinner and hub. The incorrect type of anti seize will also make removal difficult.
