I have a Kirkham that needs tires. What are people running now
I drive it on the street probably will never race it. I don't drive the car as often as I could. Any recommendations to replace the old firestones that came with it 17 years ago!

Unless you are actively tracking the car, I highly recommend the Cooper Cobras:
235/60/15-Front
295/50/15-Rear

I and several of my Cobra friends also run the Cooper Cobra tires. They have decent wet and dry traction, comfortable ride (for a Cobra), quiet (on a Cobra?) decent mileage, and reasonable pricing. My 2¢

I love the Vitour Galaxy R1. They are actually speed rated and have great wet and dry street traction. Nearly 17,000 miles on these and I will buy again.
Previous Cobra's had BFG, Mickey Thompson and Goodyear billboards.

Grubby, I'm 100% in with the Galaxy R1's. I love mine. Much better the BFG TA Radials I took off. PDUB has ridden in my "healthy " Unique FIA. 22psi front and 18 psi rear.
On the four tires, one tire needed 1/4 ounce of weight. Smooth as glass.
Unfortunately, they're no longer available.

It looks like the Galaxy tires are still on various web sites.
I hope I can get them in a few more years when needed.

Well,...
Yes, I have ridden with David, and the tires seem quite good! You want the Galaxy R1 G/T, not the plain R1! The plain R1 is a white wall tire.
I have been looking for the R1 G/T for quite a while, and they have been out of stock everywhere. John please post your sources where you found them, for those who want to consider them.
I just checked again, and I only found one place that they are becoming available next month... or so they claim at this place:
Vitour Galaxy R1 G/T
I know nothing about this vendor.
Please keep us posted if you use them. Also, report back on your impressions!

There is a vendor with 2 295 50 15 Vitours on EBay. I didn’t see the 235 fronts I use, but there was a pair of 245s.
You may have to place an order with someone and see what happens.
