Ryan, I'll take a set, maybe two if it will get things rolling.

Others that have recently indicated interest:

Full Throlttle Al
Sal Gerace
Rokndad (you better)
Lew Ledyard
RodKnock

I hope others will post their interest too.

Ryan:

What would a ball park price be for a set of wheels assuming 15-20 sets ordered up front? Could we have the option of finishes? (Some like the bronze-ish look, some like the gray-ish look.)

Lew, when Ryan and I spoke a month or two back, he said the price would be around $725-$750-ish. I would think the more sets the cheaper, but we may have a little trouble getting to 15 sets.

I also know that Fran Kress would like two sets, and I believe M&A is aware of his interest.

I would opt for the Dow 7 chromate look.

I tried to get David Kirkham interested, his business would be the perfect outlet to sell these wheels, or even to make them for that matter.

Yes, sir. If M&A produces and retains ownership of the wheel pattern, thereby the consumer doesn't have to pay for it via an added charge, then the wheel cost would be about the same price as the last run of Halibrands.

I guess the thinking there is that there wouldn't be enough customers that would pay $3,000+ (or about $1,500 over the Trigos) for a mag wheel set on top of the purchase of the car.

It would be fantastic if they could buy a couple sets to get this ball rolling with M&A.

I would hope they would fix the backspacing on the front wheels so you dont need to add spacer.

I spoke with Ryan at M&A today. M&A is busy right now, but they're looking for a Fall/Winter 2009 project, so if you're interested in purchasing a set of magnesium wheels from them, please give them a call and get on their "interested party" list.

At the moment they're waiting on getting an original wheel from someone in order to make their patterns.

I stumbled across the Finish Line site (they build Shelby American cars) and was surprised to see that they advertise both 427 and FIA magnesium wheels:

http://www.finishlinecobraslv.com/options.html

Anyone know anything about where they get them, availability and cost? I suppose I could just call them...

M&A is looking for some Winter work and, if there's enough interest, will make new molds and produce 15-20 sets. Anyone else out there interested? If you are, then please call M&A and give them you name and phone number. Thank you.

Default How accurate are you willing to get?

There are wheel configuration regulations that have come to be since the original Cobra wheels were produced which, if adhered to, result in notable differences in new production from the original (like outside diameter of one is something like at least 3/4" different). Will you be able to split up the order so that some are made to the old spec if the invoices are labeled for vintage race cars only, or something to that effect?

Sorry, I didn't see your message earlier.

You need to call M&A Castings and give them your name and phone number. If they receive enough interest, then they will hopefully produce them this Winter. Hopefully.
