Been finishing up all the details on the Spyder - did the alignment yesterday, been working on a leaky fuel pump, trimmed and coated splash guards and coated the wheel wells, cleaning up the interior... most of the details are on my cardomain page. I'm on standby with Stewart Transport to take my car out to California for paint, finally. I'll be taking off all the lights and such soon for that.

It'll be painted black.

Great look Spyder! Wow! ;)

While everyone is talking projects. Can any of you guy's recommend a shop in Tulsa that can set the Ring and Pinion in a Ford 8 inch?

Marty.

2006GT 01-22-2009 11:25 AM

Marty... Call Benji and Bob Hurley Ford. He's a master Ford Mechanic and does a great job. Tell him your with BMMC.... he'll give you the discount. I think he charged me $200 for the install (you buy the parts) well worth it. He was done within a hour...

Thanks Paul for the use of the Discount. One hour? He must be able to do those 3rd Member's with his eye's closed.
I didn't have any plans to go into the 8 inch, but I managed to land a new Auburn Traction-Loc for a couple of hundred bucks through some off the cuff conversation. Nice compliment to the my 3.50 Gears. Now I'm motivated.
After this,I really will be done with the Mustang! Really!

Just ask Randy, he'll tell ya!

Marty.

That's what I thought. I guess he's done a few. Ok... maybe more than a few. I know he's done about 20 or more cars from the club without one problem. He's got skillzzz. :D

I know, I know. Thanks Clois. I gotta get by there. Between the holidays and work, time has been hard to come by.

Clois Harlan 01-23-2009 07:33 AM

NO problem, they're there if you want them. I had my Cobra out last night for about an hour enjoying the 70+ degree day. However, after the sun went down it started to cool off pretty quick. I usually get my car out once a week or so, just to keep everything lubed up and all the bad gasoline from gumming up my carb. Even during those weeks that are not warm enough or dry enough to get the car out I will at lease start it and back it out of my garage then bring it up to temperature for about 20 mins.

Anyway Paul just let me know when you want to come over and I will try and be there.

I have about 1 hour of welding left on the basic frame, then I will reassemble the running gear so I can build my drive shaft and start the wiring. Hoping to have it ready to go-kart in the early summer, this winter has been brutal for cold and snow.

Has Micky got back with you on your Body?

Marty.

Not to steal anyone's thunder or anything but I thought I would post a little update to my HCS Coupe's progress.

Bryan of B&B Manufacturing has finished all the molds and is in the process of sorting out a few bugs with the fabrication. Bryan is doing a fantastic job with the Coupe frame and body.

Now Stanley Morton has finished all the machine work on my 408 stroker block fitting all my little pieces (Eagle I-Beam Rods, Eagle Forged Pistons, Hastings file fit rings, Eagle Forged Steel Crank (zero balanced) etc. I will pick up all my machined and balanced parts tonight so I can start the assembly this week.

Saturday I drove down to Hollywood Arkansas to Keith Crafts shop (man what a set up). Keith built me a set of his special heads that he had worked his magic on. I also bought a Performer RPM intake manifold, distributor, box, Comp Cam specially designed by Keith for my 408 stroker. I also picked up a TKO 600 RR trany and with all the other parts I have been collecting over the last few weeks we are ready to build an engine that should yield between 500 and 530 BHP on the dyno. I certainly hope I have all my projects behind me in time for the Hallett meet in June. I want to give the Coupe a real shake down on the track that week. (June 24-28, 2008).

I've heard a lot of good thing about Keith's work on cylinder heads, should make a great combo with their comp cam. I had a couple of buddies I used to race IMCA Modifieds against run Keith's heads.
I may have to make up to the Hallett meet in June to check out the HCS Coupe.

Juggernaut 02-03-2009 10:46 AM

Interior looks great Paul, I like your little helper too!

I didn't forget about your old seats, I'm trying to find some time to get out & look at them.
