Clutch Fork for FE, Tremec 600 and QuickTime Bell ?

Is there a specific FE fork, either stock or better modern technology for my combo ?
Website and cost please.

Mike Forte. Get his classic slave setup and be done with it.

FUNFER2 10-30-2017 08:11 PM

What ?

rodneym 10-31-2017 12:26 PM

The Kirkham unit, by far.
Dave's very busy but it's worth the wait.
Do a search on here and see what it looks like.

FUNFER2 10-31-2017 02:31 PM

I don't know if this problem is my wife's tablet or CC's, but when I try typing in the search box, it disappears ?

Please post a link for now.

I doubt I can afford a Kirkham, but.....

I have seen photo's, andli ike everything that Kirkham makes, their clutch fork is a work of art !

I tried uploading pics but they failed ?

C'mon, you don't need that stuff. Just a plain old hardened clutch fork has worked well for 60 years. Let's face it, a fork's a fork... unless it's in the road. Here's a pic of mine after I trimmed it to allow more clearance around my master cylinder, which is mounted in the tunnel.

Hey Patty, na don't need it, it's just a state of perfection, and pretty.

I just need a new fork, pivot ball and the pushrod. But looking at what's out there.
Are their any differences in the FE steel's (or lower cost aluminum's) like better quality etc ?

No difference in quality; a small difference in weight. The biggest thing you can do is get a nice, clean, straight push from the slave, so watch your geometry.

Your actuating rod angle looks like it's running down hill a bit Pat.

FUNFER2 10-31-2017 09:13 PM

That's a lot of metal strength to cut off a fork.

Andheeezonit 11-01-2017 05:20 AM

I'm using the Kirkham fork with a Windsor and a QuickTime. It could be the reason my TKO 600 works so well.

Yes. That picture was actually taken midway through the remedial work performed during this delightful thread: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/era-...-part-not.html You will note that there is no return spring on the fork either. All of that, including the alignment, was taken care of after I finished up the installation.

Here is one way to resolve alignment concerns plus adjustment is easy, back off the jam nut and turn the slave rod. The tabs on the arm allow for shims to center the rod end. No resistance from the rod going through the arm.

rodneym 11-01-2017 10:29 AM

Now THAT'S how you trim a clutch fork.
Heim joints are nice, that's for sure.

For those who don't know, the Forte's setup works like this except there's a moveable block that can be adjusted that sits in the fork "U".

Where can we get that setup ?

rodneym, I don't see the system on Forte's website ?

rodneym 11-01-2017 12:04 PM

FUNFUR2,
Give him a call (508) 875-0016, he'll more than likely answer.
Tell him what you got and he'll sell you what you need.
In my case with my CSX it was CNC slave, milled ally bracket that mounts on the Tranny to BH, the adjustable block with heim that goes on the fork, and the adjustable pushrod. You might need a new line, too. It's a nice setup. Great bolt on.
If I was unbuttoning everything or starting over, then I'd get with the KMP fork.
