T56 Tailhousing
I am in the middle of a project, I have a T56 fron An LS1 Camaro. the only thing i really need to do is move the shifter forward by about 4" (estimated), i will not know the exact ammount until we actually get the engine and tranny in place. I am assuming that the internals in the tailhousings are the same from tranny to tranny (unless you have the viper trans with the large output shaft?) if this is the case then i belive that i can get away with shortening the shift rail and redrilling the roll pin hole and using a tailhousing with the shifter location farther forward. It looks like I can use the T/H from a Ford T56, or an Aston T56 to get the shifter in the right location!
If what I have stated above is true, then who or where can I get a tailhousing from (new or used) at a reasonable price?
