New Quicktime bellhousing for FE
I just checked the Quicktime website and they have a new bellhousing for the FE coming out June 15th. It accomodates TKO, Toploader, T-5. Weighs only 22 lbs. It's gotta be better than the Lakewood. Just in time for my build!

Very good news. Does not state anything in relation to the need for a spacer though. I'd have to assume you need the spacer still?

Two different depths
From the website info, it appears that they will offer two different depths. The deeper bell will work with the TKO transmission, so a spacer will not be needed. The shallow depth will work with the toploader.

No spacer would be great (without trans mods) since the last one we worked with took 3 spacers to get one that was suitable ... and even that one took modification to clear the hyd. t/o bearing properly.

I have been looking into stocking these bellhousings, after researching them alittle I have found them to be a excellent product and I also found out that they are the only bellhousing that Roush uses as of now. They are tooling up on a regular basis to make new versions and they also offer SFI approved bellhousings. jimig@standardtransmission.com

The 3D rendering of the BBF shows very little lip at the bottom and no bolt holes there. That may make the standard Cobra mods a lot less severe.....

I have been following this for the last couple of months. I have talked to them several times. It will be made like the ones they have and be "spunand will be their biggest BH yet. They told me the price will be between 350 and 390 and should be ready to sell in June. It will weigh arount 22 lbs. I can't weight. The quick time stuff I have seen is very top quality.

Are they smaller than the Lakewood pieces?

The guy told me about a month ago that they are a little smaller but he is not sure of fitment yet since there weren't any made at that time. He did say with some assurance it will fit where a McCloed or Lakewood would fit. For the price it will be the cheapest weight reduction deal in town.

Our customers asked for and and it is availble NOW along with 20 new bellhousings. We are currently working on the T56 family of bellhousing available early fall. The QuickTime FE bellhousing will have more clearance than any other bellhousing on the market and weighs only 22 lbs. I just recieved mine last week. Very nice piece of work I might add. Best part 22#. Has an alumn. backplate. Rings for different transmissions-I will be using a TKO. Another cool feature is that it is set up for a cable clutch option-even came with the ball. I am going to figure out how to use the cable hole for my external slave cylinder.
Another good point is I paid less than what I have seen used Lakewoods go for on Ebay!. |

Quicktime is also making a bellhousing for 460 carb engines to TKO 600. I'm waiting. Canceled my order with Lake wood.
I just can't believe any body would use a Lakewood without machining that bottom lip off.:eek: |
With that large starter opening, and minimal lower flange and bolts, I find it hard to believe that these Quicktime bellhousings would be SFI or NHRA approved. Can anybody confirm that these housings do have a dated SFI sticker on them? It is normally a small rectangular silver sticker with a SFI spec, plus a date "punchout"
