Cobra breakfast.
I see some of the guys on the west coast have Cobra breakfasts.
I think thats a neat idea. When I used to ride motorcycles the guys would meet for breakfast on Sunday mornings. You guys have any interest in trying to organize something like that? |
I vote we meet at a Cracker Barrel for breakfast.......If Sunny, regardless of temperature, you must bring your McCobra (if it is running at the time) :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

The Cobra driving season is over for McCranky. The McCrankymobile is resting on jack stands and I will wake it up about April 15, maybe even give it a shower and are you sitting down, a few squirts of wax.( don't want to spoil that car with a complete wax job)
See you all next show season ???????:JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE McCranky:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: |
I'm game. Evening or weekend?
Just let me know. You can also count in Tom R. Hey! Let's do Breakfast !!   Roscoe |
Hey, Evan
I'm planning another breakfast run Dec 15th or 16th. You, Bill , Roscoe and all other members of Tri States are more than welcome to attend. I will even supply the sun screen... Actally breakfast runs are a great time for members and wives to get together. Enjoy yours.. mike |
Sounds good.
I would suggest that the eatery be located in the Morristown area which is more centralized for the participants. Any ideas? My car is up at HRE so I won't have it back before the bad weather really kicks in. Can always drive the Jeep. P.S. Mikiec: Thanks for the invite but based on the logistics I must pass.:D |
Morristown area is good for me; breakfast or lunch. I don't really know the area that well to know a place though.
Keep me posted Roscoe |
There is a tiny little diner on route 46 in Mountain Lakes called the West Side Diner....Not much to look at from the outside, but world class 5 star breakfasts on the inside.............Otherwise, I still vote for the Cracker Barrel (early morning, otherwise, the wait is terrible) in Mt Arlington..........Nothing really great in the Morristown area, at least not that my wife and I have found in the last 10+ years...........Then again, the Madison Diner is not that bad, but the access off any major route is not the greatest........

Would anyone be game to meet on Sunday morning about 10a and then go for a short ride after the meeting. Spoke to Tom R. and Bill K and they are up for it.
If so, we have to move and make some calls. Roscoe |
I took my car out this afternoon in what was beautiful weather. Since this warm weather won't last I suggest that if the weather remains this nice over the weekend that we try and get together either this Sat or Sun AM.
West Side Diner is fine with me (is that the old Paul's Diner)? This may be last minute but I doubt that we will get a future weekend as pleasant as the weekend coming up. |
Just let me know what the plans are folks............Most of you have my number...................
Bill S. |
Are the spouses invited as well.
Bill S. PS: The west side diner is on the west bound side of 46 before the old Denville Sales (now a pool and entertainment store)...............Small, quaint, but great food........ Once again, someone just let me know/........... |
Bill
I know the diner you are talking about now. Next to Anchor Hardware. I think that it is too small and obscure for most guys to find. Probably better off at Cracker Barrel since it is right off Rte 80. How about Sunday at 10AM? |
OK..... I've received two phone calls off line since my post so we now have a date for 10AM this Sunday (18th) at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant at the Mount Arlington exit on Rte 80 across the street from the Sheraton where many of us met last year.
No idea if 5 people will show up or 50 but if the weather permits, then bring your Cobra and we'll take a trip after breakfast probably around the Lake Hopatcong area. If the weather is crummy, then bring your daily driver and we'll still have a nice breakfast and compare notes. Tim Lewis 973/334-4086 |
Just as an FYI for folks, the Mt Arlington exit is # 30 (east or west bound)on route 80.......The Cracker barrel is just north on the Blvd (just past the Exxon gas station)........

OK,
I spoke with: Tom Raddin : coming Felix Hernandez: coming Joe O'Dowd: Left message John Olson: Left message Roscoe |
Roscoe,
Like your wife, mine has decided to sleep in..Guess I'm going stag %/ %/ %/ . See you in the AM. Bill S. |
Well we met 10am on Sunday at the Cracker Barrel. We had five people show: Me, Bill S., Bill K., Tom R., and Tim L. Felix had a problem on the way and could not make it but his heart was in the right place. Evan was conspicuous by his absence but we got to talk about him.
We had a good breakfast and then took a ride through some really nice winding back roads and worked our way up to Greenwood Lake, NY. Came back down and picked up 23 around West Milford. Got back in around 2pm. Some of the roads we hit were really great and we went through the turns with about 4 feet between each car. Some stretches were almost a mile long with lots of turns and straights. We all gave the cars a good workout. Too bad some of you did not make it. Guess you all were too busy waxing. Roscoe :MECOOL:  :MECOOL: |
Damn Bob....
...now had I known Evan didn't go (tongue firmly planted in cheek)......
Actually....... I WAS waxing!!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!! Thats the funny part. I just finished my longest outstanding project, painting my house. My other big project is finishing the Cobra. After my leaf raking yesterday, I looked in the garage abd saw the 3 inches of dirt on the Cobra on the body buck. I rolled it into the driveway and scrubbed it down. I then applied 3M swirl remover to the paint. This is the first wax of any type this virgin body has seen.:3DSMILE: So.....as soon as I get my garage in order (looks like a tornado hit it), I'm getting my trailer and storing McStang in it for the winter so I can spread the Cobra out and finish it. Orders from Cranky you know!   Once I'm ready, I'll invite all you guys over and instruct Evan on what the correct style frame looks like under a Contemporary and we'll then have a debate on what's more important, the shape and style of the chassis or the placement of the rollbar on a Contemporary. I'm trying to get some airtime with Tim Russert on this subject. Could make for good TV. BTW....glad you guys had fun! **) **) **) |
Bob,
I guess the bigger question is... How many of you guys will be joining Club Cranky at Elkhart Lake Sept. 2002??? Club Cranky goes "national" with this event. Cranky has posted a full schedule (tentative0 under "All Racing Talk". Don't have to race, just come and enjoy. Mr Bruce coined the Club Cranky motto..... "We aren't many and we aren't few.....you party with us, we'll party with you". |
