Day after Thanksgiving Cruise?

Anyone up for a cruise the day after thanksgiving- that is of course- assuming you're still able to fit behind the wheel after turkey day.:D

(By the way, this was ERA649's idea- maybe 649 will be finished by then.:))

mrmustang 10-16-2003 01:30 PM

Don't know what I'll own by then, but I'm game.

REAL 1 10-16-2003 01:44 PM

Weather permitting count me in.

ERA649 10-16-2003 03:12 PM

Great Idea--the last cruise of the season- I'am in -the car should be on the road, for sure.

BlueRooster 10-16-2003 07:50 PM

Can I lead the cruise? I just took a drive last weekend up to high point State Park...it was awesome. I got some great rides through the country.

turnpike boy 10-17-2003 04:45 AM

Haven't met any conditions yet that don't warrant a cruise...:D

We'll be there, Chappy....foul weather gear and all.

:D :D :D :D

jamvan 10-17-2003 04:52 AM

Count me in guys, weather permitting. Hopefully it will be a fine crisp and sunny fall day.

Day after turkey day cruise

Hey Guys,

Provided I can get my engine finished (which I should by then) and if the weather is good, I'm in. Especially, if you guys are thinking about going to High Point. I live about twelve miles from there in NY and I know the area well. There are some good options as far as a route. We could cruise in NY up the Hawks Nest (some nice twisties there); or go through Milford PA (nice artsy & crafty town with some good eateries) and then down through NJ to Ross Corners (Skylands Park where the NJ Cardinals play) and back across to Rte 23 in Sussex, NJ.

Let me know everyone's thoughts.

649- "the car should be on the road, for sure." The clock is ticking . . .

Rooster-
That's fine with me:D Last weekend I went up to Bear Mountain and drove around westchester for a while, very nice ride . . .

Neither rain, hail, sleet or snow shall keep Turnpike Boy out of his Cobra:D

ERA649 10-17-2003 01:33 PM

Yes Chaplin, the car should be on the road, but Peter bumped you ahead of me.

Turnpike, I'll meet you on 202 heading north and then we can meet Real1 and go north.

I hope you guys have heaters.

jamvan 10-17-2003 01:53 PM

ERA649:

I'm outside morristown, let me know which way you are coming up so I can hook-up with you on the way. And yes, my heater is working fine.

ERA649 10-19-2003 02:28 PM

janvan,

I'll meet up with you, and I guess we'll keep heading north. But Sussex county is the coldest in the state, depending on the weather maybe we should think about Hunterdon and Warren if someone knows of good roads.

How many miles are we thinking of driving?

BlueRooster 10-19-2003 04:22 PM

I know some rides through Hells Mountain in Tewks and up into Clinton and High Bridge...Maybe around Round Valley Resovoir(sp). I am in Morris Plains, Jamvan where are you by Morristown?

delin 10-20-2003 01:03 PM

We'd love to meet up with you guys before or after and see what y'all have done to your cars. We're building ours at the moment -- should be ready for next summer's cruises. We're in Millburn, NJ -- just off 78/24 -- can meet up anywhere at any time.

ERA649 10-20-2003 02:29 PM

Let's drive where the cops are nice.

jamvan 10-21-2003 12:21 PM

I am located in Chatham. Right between delin and Blue Rooster. I agree, Sussex County can be a little nippy in late November, even with a heater. I would also suggest Somerset or Hunterdon County.

649-
Peter did no such thing, although I did try :p. I just didn't have much left to do when I got it.:D

Sounds like there is quite a few of us in the same area. We should be able to pick a convenient place for everyone to meet to head out- maybe the green in Morristown. BTW, the heater does work and it keeps the legs and feet warm, but it doesn't do much for the upper body :(

jamvan 10-21-2003 03:21 PM

Chaplin:

The green in morristown would be a great place. Could head out either south, west or north from there. Where you located? Seems we may be just around the corner from each other.

Chaplin 10-21-2003 03:32 PM

Jim-
We are pretty close, I'm in Springfield.

Mike

jamvan 10-21-2003 04:26 PM

Mike:

Right around the corner. I'm surprised I have not seen your car out and about. Mine is coming back up from the shore this weekend (weather permitting). It spent the last month and one-half at the beach. Let me know when you will be out with the car anytime soon. Would love to see it.
