I sprayed the ceramic coated side pipes with the high temp black immediately after being coated. The surface was clean and had not been contaminated with any road dirt, grease, etc., etc., I do not know if Bill Hirsch's high temp paint is any different than other high temp paints, but his products have an excellent reputation in the antique car world.

Swain mentions their process is proprietary, which may or may not be the same as other ceramic coatings. Appears some times the term " ceramic coating " is used in a generic manner. With the rough surface of Swain's ceramic , the high temp paint adhered and has not peeled, chipped etc. I had asked Swain about spraying over their ceramic coating and while they did not have any personal experience, they could not think of any reason why it would not work. Touch up is very easy. Appears some coatings referred to as ceramic are as smooth as the paint on an auto, might make a difference if attempting to use another coating product, such as the high temp paint.

Prior to having Swain's ceramic coating , I had another vendors standard coating, not ceramic, and the high temp paint would not adhere.

Rough guess, approx 50 engine hours ++, mostly local/short trips where the heat and cool down cycles would be more frequent.
