SPECIAL DELIVERY FOR MR. CHAPLIN!%/%/

http://www.cobranet.com/coppermine/a...8Medium%29.JPG

Bill,

All I know is I froze my ass off that day. If I'm not hung over this year...there is a possibility.

mrmustang 10-20-2004 05:02 PM

JM,

Does this mean your Cobra will be ready by then, as mine is now a hardtop...Taking the wife's car out just will not be the same thing for me........

Bill S.

PS: I do remember one other saying from you while riding out to Rogers house:

"Top of the morning ma" if I'm not mistaken.......

John McMahon 10-20-2004 07:55 PM

Bill,

Close, it was "Top of the World, Ma" from a Cagney movie.

My CObra won't be ready, I'm backlogged with house chit right now with the missus now is resident.

My new plan :p is to finish it for the spring and sell it.

Roscoe 10-21-2004 06:03 AM

Hey McMahon:

Which spring are you talking about? What year?

Roscoe

John McMahon 10-21-2004 06:08 AM

Hey Roscoe:

I KNOW...I KNOW!!!!! Ain't enough hours in the day now. I'm trying to get around to it. Just recently washed off the VASH ME, you had written in the dust when we put the body on.

Shoot me now.

turnpike boy 10-21-2004 06:32 AM

Not to worry, JM....

...we can either strap a chair to the trunk of mine, or push you around in your Cobra on New Yrs Day.

WTF, if there's enough alcohol involved, you won't know the difference.

John McMahon 10-21-2004 06:37 AM

I just need prolly a month of weekends (solid) to get it done.

As it sits now.....

klayfish 10-21-2004 08:18 AM

Strap a chair to the back of yours? Would that be like a rumble seat? You remember those things, don't ya, TP boy? :D

Johnny, you're really letting the Mrs. whip your a$$, ain't ya?

Steve

Klayfish,

You're kidding, right? I just spent three days at Watkins Glen having a great time with her blessing.

The problem as I see it is, changing from my 'Bachelor Mode' to a 'Couple Mode'. I have spent so much time since my dee-vorce just doing car stuff, that my house has gone to chit.

I just recently threw out the remnants of my Fred Sanford furniture collection from Seaman's.

ANYMORE QUESTIONS, DUMMY????

klayfish 10-21-2004 10:15 AM

I hear ya. Nice to have a supportive better half. I've got a chit load of stuff to do around my house too. We moved at the end of July and I'm still trying to finish removing the wallpaper from my sons' room. But the wife has been good and let me go play. Now that it's getting cold, time to get my butt to work on the house.

I'm still hoping to sneak out and make it to Summit Point in November. Is the track worth the trip, or is it another Ruth Buzzi?

Is that Cranky in that picture, the guy sitting on the running board? :D

Steve

jamvan 10-21-2004 10:15 AM

Weather permitting, you can count me in. CSX4349 is finally finished and should be home in NJ within the next week or so (just finishing the titlework and registration).

I will post a few pictures within the next few days to show you all that the car really does exit. It has been very hard attending all the cobra functions over the past few months without a car. If I knew it was going to take this long, I would of never sold my ERA 289 back in May.

Jim

John McMahon 10-21-2004 11:49 AM

Jim,

I NEVER would have sold an ERA 289 for a 4000! IMHO.

Steve,

Summit Point is a great track. Kind of like the ugly step daughter with a Hot Body.

As explained in an older thread:

1. Pocono = Ruth Buzzi (butt ugly, soiled, used and abused, not much fun to ride)

2. Summit Point = Courtney Love (a dirty little ho, but still fun to 'ride on' when she ain't hosting the entire populace of WV)

3. Lime Rock = Salma Hayek (short, hot, curvy and unpredictable)

4. VIR = Ashley Judd (a tall drink o' water with long, beautiful lines that make you giddy in anticipation of what lies in her moist hills and valleys)

5. Watkins Glen = Pam Anderson (built for speed, bigger than life, beautifully coifed and every curve gives you a 'chubby').

jamvan 10-21-2004 06:28 PM

John:

ERA 2017 was a great car and I loved it, but it was time to move on. I built CSX 4349 to be the car I always wanted. If I would of had the garage space, I would of kept both.

jim

JWheaton 10-21-2004 07:33 PM

Jim, (jamvan)

I had extra garage space -- we shoulda talked.

Jim (Mcmon)

No need to explain all your wet dreams. :p

But thank you for the visions of Salema Hayek.....always a welcome thought.

jamvan 10-22-2004 05:34 AM

Where were all you guys when I needed you. Should of had you guys talk to my wife and explain it to her.

John M. I totally agree with your analogy. Had a great Lime Rock dream last night after reading it.

SVT 10-24-2004 06:38 PM

hi
Is the a club for just older cobras?

klayfish 10-25-2004 04:05 AM

SVT,
All are welcome. This forum is mostly devoted to the "Shelby Cobra" 427 and 289 cars, but it's not exclusive. You just have to go through initiation. :D We also have a local website, though not too active at the moment. www.midatlanticcobras.com

Steve

mrmustang 10-25-2004 04:06 AM

While the web site is primarily for the older Cobra (real and replica), there are many of us here that own late model Mustang based Cobras as well...I for one have a 95 "R" Model..........If your looking primarily for the late model Cobra guys to hang out with, click HERE
