The 100 Day Snake & Eggs
Wow - I almost missed it, this event is scheduled for April 7th. Sorry I thought it was much later in April I need to apologize to everyone for that.
For those that may not know, let me give a brief history of this season kick-off event.
Traditionally the S&E was 100 days after the winter holiday party. In those days the holiday party was in mid-January and the 100 S&E was mid to late April. Since the weather is so nice this year moving it up may will turn out to be a very good idea.
Additionally, the event took place on the South-side. (WCCC was accused of being a North-side club so the kick-off event was scheduled on the South-side).
With all that background I would like to solicit opinions as to where the 100 day S&E should be held this year. Keep in mind that we have two new directors. One lives in Rockford and one lives in Oak Forest. Those two cities must be approaching 100 miles apart. (Or so I have been told - remember I am geographically challenged; so what do I know). It has been suggested we should pick a more centralized location. (Keep in mind that last years event was in Rockford).
I for one am leaning toward a South-side location. What does everyone think?

I think somewhere around I-88 & I-355 might be central to many, but I don't have a clue about where a place would be. That's 27 miles for me.

There is a Cracker Barrel off I-88 and Hwy 59, just west of I-355.
I'm in! Classes are the two weekends following the 100 day S & E, so we can't postpone. :-)

How about the Rivers Casino in DesPlaines for Sunday brunch? I think its about $20 per person and the food is amazing....Perhaps some of the ladies would like to do some gambling afterwards, like driving with us in the cars isn't enought of a gamble for them... Very causal dress place too...

What in the heck happened?
I remember 3 -4 years ago when someone mentioned to go on a ride, we'd get 10 to 15 Cobras show up.
I'll tell ya, I leave you guys for a few months and the place falls apart!
Remember scenes like these?

100 day snake & eggs
Is there a place to park cobras at the casino?
I think it would be nice to visit but I wouldn't take my cobra there.
So what day is the s&e anyway?

Maybe we should consider more of a lunchtime and location event? Weather could be a factor - After all... IT"S APRIL IN CHICAGO.....believe it or not...

Blas I like your idea of making it a little later in the day. We could combine that idea with the stated Club goal of visiting all the Twisted Kilt restaurants in the area. My research tells me that Twisted Kilt opens at 11:00 am so it would be more of a brunch. Since last years 100 day S&E was at a Twisted Kilt we could claim it was a ‘new tradition’.
There is a bigger issue …………. The date is being questioned by more and more people. For those that have not looked at a calendar the original Saturday date is Passover & the next day is Easter. Many people have indicated they have family commitments. I for example have an out-of-town guest that weekend and we have family plans for both days.
So here is my suggestion:
1 Let’s move it back to the following weekend that would be April 14th.
2 Let’s make it a little later in the day say an 11:00 am meeting time.
3 Let’s make the location a Twisted Kilt
4 I am still thinking ‘South Side’. There is a Twisted Kilt in Bolingbrook just off of I-55. There is also one in Chicago Ridge just off of I-294. I would vote for the one in Bolingbrook.
If that location is unacceptable………….. Elgin is kind of a central location.
What does anyone else think??
