Guess I am getting an ERA FIA 289 in the spring if I can accumulate sufficient dollars to pay for it. Any donations not matter the amount will be greatfully acknowledged.
In the event that lots of donations arrive (or in lieu) how about advice regarding pitfalls with Illinois State departments for tiltle /plates / EPA that anyone is willing to share??? |

Is largely going to depend on your particular car/ setup. The way I went about it was I purchased a used one and then when it was time for the emmissions test, I asked for a show / race car exemption which technically limits your driving ;) To shows, track, and exhibitions. Where else would you go with it anyway? Isn't this car is a show on wheels? This is something they do not publisize, so some of their employees don't even know it exists. What it is is an affidavit you fill out and you also need to show that your insurance is limited to 3000 or less a year. You mail it in and they send you an exemption. good luck with your search. What will your certificate of orgin say?
This defines how the State will title the car. Many people get a 'new' 1965 auto. That is what my title says. So, it might be a question for ERA & how they show the documents. Rich |
