OhBuoy 08-22-2004 07:37 PM

Just got home a while ago. What an event!!! Great attendance, great food, great host and hostess, what more can be said. I came away from the event 1 shade brighter red, 2 belt holes larger (and my racing harness needed to be adjusted) and lacking taste buds after Arcenio's 911 Salsa. Tasted great, had to go back for more, but someone please tell me that the hot sausage was not really hot!!!

I also ended the evening with some valuable lessons.

1) If you know your gas guage does not work well, do not trust it!
2) If you know your gas guage does not work well, do not forget that you drove 120+ miles the past weekend.
3) If you cannot trust your gas guage, before trying to start your car numerous times at the stop light, and then pushing it into the gas station parking lot and trying many things to get the car started, try putting a few gallon's of gas in the tank.

They say the man above looks over drunks and fools, and as many of you know, I am far from a drunk (foodaholic maybe, but drunk NOT!!!). So, it was a blessing that this fool forgot his camera at Fred's house and had to go back for it. That difference in mileage was the difference between being right at the Mobile station or being on the expressway.

You guys are the best!!
Tom

WOW! what an event. Thanks to our hosts and all attendees. People were great, food was great, weather was great, cars were spectacular. 22 cars in the cul-de-sac was pretty impressive. Looking forward to next event, the people involved in this club are GREAT!

This WCCC picnic event will be hard to surpass…
Thanks to everyone who attended and especially to Fred and Sue for their hospitality
A great selection of people, food and conversation, and record number of cars. (22)
I have a great selection of photos and would be happy to make up some CD’s for people.
So if you send me your electronic photos, ESPECIALLY the ladies “SPECIAL” photo, either by email if you only have a few, or put them on a CD (preferred) and mail them to me, I will compile a master CD.
If you mail me a CD…
You can also include, if you like, any and all club event photos in your possession: .2000-2004- Volo, Poker Run(s), Snake & Eggs, House crawl’s, etc. and I will burn up a “Year(s) in review CD” for the Christmas party.
Get them to me by …..September 30th or so….(label the events if you can)
2005 promises to be a banner year for the club.

To be cont.......

OhBuoy 08-23-2004 03:17 PM

Arcenio,

I had to get the Spicy Chicken from Silk (dirt) Road for lunch today to see if my tastebuds had any remaining sensativity to hot. I do have to say that I liked the "911" "Stroked" the best, but that was simply because it was one of the two that I tried. It was made the way that I like it. Maggie liked some of the others, but she likes the diced up vegetable salsas, I like it when you cannot tell that there are tomatoes in there. THe tamalees were excellent as well. The Indian cowboy's fried creation was very good. I think I liked John's hot sausage, but I am not all that sure that it was so hot after having the 911.

So, one vote for the 911, and one vote for Mark's salsa from our family.

Tom

Fred and Sue,

Thanks for hosting the club picnic. What an awesome party!!!
The Brewmeister and I had a great time. When's the next one?!?!

Your's truly,
Lite 'em up!

PS: I hear the winner of the Salsa Wars was the Tostitos Jar of salsa :) :)

RichMusson 08-24-2004 05:52 AM

Laura
Tostitos in a Jar Salsa - why I here that stuff in made in New York City!!!
Everyone knows the BEST SALSA is made in Chicago.

I vote for anything that has been stroked and bored - so I go with the 911

Rich

SALSA?

I don't know if it counts as salsa but that green stuff
Sid brought gets my vote.

Glen 08-24-2004 11:05 AM

Hello everybody - My name is Glen and I just want to thank every one, Laura (my daughter) I talked to on Sunday. WOW what a showing of hardware! Eric turned me on to the picnic and I'm glad we showed up. I got to talk to Jack and Mark about there cars, and i'm sorry to the other Mark, that his wife wants to sell his car.
I think she was interested in my offer!(Ha,Ha) Great to see so many Cobra's in one spot. I hope to see them again, or even buy one of them this fall.
Thanks again, Glen

pilotdad13 08-25-2004 05:51 AM

Thanks for all the kind words, hope everyone had a good time and enough to eat, because we had a lot of left overs. We appreciate all the help during setup, cooking and cleanup which made life a little easier, and made us think about hosting another party, next time on Saturday so we can party all night. The salsa war was a great idea, I even tried to bring in an outsider with some salsa wich failed to Arcineo's 911, but I'm still looking for the Hot salsa! Mark's brew was great I wish I had a little more, whats a party with out the beer. All the various dishes were delicious, I would'nt mind getting some of the recipese. I was hoping that we would of had a pool valley ball tournament or bellyflop contest, but after seeing Marty in the pool, I need say nothing more. Thanks to Tom for bringing the tunes, almost as important as the beer. I need to run, but any one interested in a Snake & Eggs this Sunday!
