That is about what I envisioned--I think you maybe only broke the spider gears-- if you can get the rear cover off you probably can replace them without dropping the whole rear end--at least then you would be back on the road, and can convert to L/S at a later date-- And Ralpie is getting new spider gears also ( 31 spline from Strange Eng. axles) maybe he'll donate his old 28s to you----?????? See, all that carb work at the intake end overtaxes the output end Jerry |

Hey Jerry, you may have to detune this thing because I am stuck with the beemer stuff. Just kidding, reading up on the E36 diff I find a 3.46 ratio is rated for 410 ft lbs of torque. Can you believe that? It ran great all the way down there and I calculate approx 14.6 mpg at about 75 mph most of the way there. |
