Thanks to the doctors!
I want to take a moment to thank the WCCC medical team that stopped by on saturday to take a look at my rear end. As you all know my main unit has not been functioning properly since the incedent at the Byron drag strip.
First thankyou to Arcy and Fred and the two Suzie Q's for getting me back home safley and tucking me in. Then a special thanks to Dr. Frank Badman for making me get off of my rearend and arranging for the medical team to make a special house call to my place. On a week end no less!! That is something that most Dr. don't do anymore now a days. What a great team of medical specialists. Mike, Ralph,Frank and Chris, and then the emegency back up team, Blas and Al making special trips with the special surgical tools we were lacking. The diagnostic procedure went smoothly and the outlook is promising. They tell me that it was not milignant and isolated to the half shaft on the driverside of the rear end. The only concern that I have is that non of the guys were wearing any latex gloves {because Lowell forgot to send them out} and working around the rear end and shafts,,,,,, well you know,,,,, I was a little concerned. But Dr. Frank reassured me that they did not come into any contact with any fluids. Again thank you all for your help. |
Wolfie,
I did offer to bring the gloves and the thing with the light on the end! Lowell |
Wolf,
We were happy to help you disassemble your car’s rear axle and identify the problem. Speaking for myself, I welcomed the opportunity to learn about our cars and hopeful Superformace issues a basic repair manual complete with step-by-step instructions, illustrations and wiring diagrams in the near future. E-mail or call us when you have the replacement half shaft and we'll drop on by to help with the installation. |
OK two complete business days are passed since the operation. You better have the replacement parts ready this Saturday. If not, as I'm sure you will find if you read the fine print in your HMO documentation, we get to charge more and higher fees, none of which are reimbursable and don't even count toward your deductible. In fact, if the moon phase has changed since the operation, (it has) the previous doctors may not be on your plan anymore and the entire operation will have to be repeated (maybe twice) at your expense.

The doctors have done all they could... ;) Lowell |
I took the part to Elgin drive line today, they wanted to know what the #*&% I had done to break it like that. I told them I was crusing along when I accidently came upon a pile of maple, or was it oak? leaves and then the tires broke loose and then they all of a sudden grabbed and then I heard a loud pop and then there was nothing. They told me if that is what truly happened that it would probably be covered by my warranty.
They also wanted to know if I knew what donor car/year the part came from,,,,, and of course I don't so I faxed Superformance requesting the info. hopefully I will get some answers tommorrow. I also requested another set of "nuts" for the axel as you guys recommended. That was an awfull lot for me to do in such a short amount of time,,whew!!! P.S. Ralphy I looked all over for your knee pads and could'nt find them. Maybe tommorrow I'll hook up the lights in my garage so that I could see and I will look again for you. By the way,,,,,,,,, what do you do with those things? |
All this talk of "nuts and rear ends" makes me wonder how the reinsertion party is going to go. I better bring my knee pads and rubber gloves........
|
Hook up lights-- you mean wire something in---- you would be better off sticking with the battery kind---LOL

All this proctoscopy talk makes me think of this "Cobra"--http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=25374&cat=500&ppuser=15281 I saw a really nice British Green 289 driving east on 176 outside of Island Lake last weekend. Was it any of you guys? It was a beaut. I would have turned around and given chase, but I was in a big hurry, and traffic threw Lake Zurich was )(^%($@! ugly. |
Wolfie,
We'll sneak in Frank's garage and swap out the half-shaft with the one on his car....You both got silver cars.... |
Blas and Wolf,
You could try to sneak into my garage and swap out my car’s the half-shaft for Wolf’'s broken piece, but I wouldn’t suggest it. See, I anticipated you guys might try and asked my favorite uncle Guido to personally watch my car. (Remember my uncle Guido, the big guy with the bent nose, mustache, and no neck?) It’s amazing how fast that big man moves in the dark and I really hate attending funerals. (I hope your life insurance policies are paid up if you’re dumb enough to try.) You’ve been warned. |
CSX 4039 took wrong turn!

That's like me telling you how bad the traffic is at the Buda exit on highway 35 south of Austin! Ralph :MECOOL: |
And you'd be right.
I was just surprised that they'd build so much development all they way out Rand Rd, practically to Wisc, without significantly widening the roads. In the 70's I worked in Fox Lake, and could drive there from Arlington Hts. in 35 minutes. I was just surprised, that's all. |
Wolif,
Did you have the new rear axle hallf shaft? When would you like us to drop over and help with the install? |

Wolfman,

Frank you guys can stop over anytime, I'm always lonely; and you don't even have to work on my car. Your company is always welcome.
