It was so nice last Thursday here in Michigan that I uncovered the slabside and put about 40 miles on her. Makes you very hungry for spring!

CaliCobra 01-08-2007 07:56 PM

Geez, over hear in the SF Bay Area we just did two 70 mile+ runs over that last two weekends. It was cold in the morning but then warmed up by mid-day. No clouds in the sky. It was a really nice day.

Jerry Clayton 01-08-2007 07:56 PM

Tell Kim that with a stick car you just get it rolling , jump over the door, put it in gear and drive on---well, it might take some practice

Warren and Judy came to visit their car and I sent Warren out with his but it was pretty cool by the time they were here. The sun was shining nice earlier and it wasn't too bad but it was pretty cool and cloudy by 4pm or so.

Yep - been plenty warm in Texas several times lately

It was Dec. 31, '06 I took the car for a much needed ride. I cruised down to the Pacific coast about an hour before the sun set. Lots of people out waiting for the sunset, chilling after a day at the beach, fishing, BBQing, getting ready for the end of the year. I was in my element, cool wind in my face, sweatshirt on, beanie pulled over my head. It was great. Then it got even greater. I check my rear veiw mirror and I see the unmistakable front end of another cobra comming up behind me. He pulls up along side and we just admired eachother's car, smiled and cruised together through a nice long canyon run here called Kanan Road. It winds up a pretty good grade of about 2000 feet, has 3 tunnels, some well placed passing lanes, great veiws of the hills. We get to the 101 freeway and he goes east and I go west. I was out for a little more than an hour, hands numb from the wind, car was running great, a very satisfying way to end the year. Nothing beats a great day on the road driving a Cobra! Well almost nothing. Happy new year to all.

NKOTB 01-08-2007 08:37 PM

drove mine today 3 or 4 times in the last week or so. Thanks El Niņo!! And no, it's not global warming, it's a 428 Police Interceptor! :-)

bulletbrown 01-09-2007 07:37 AM

Lets see we have NKOTB from Marietta GA, Masnaka from west coast, RBLONG from Roannoke TX. and Calicobra from Livermore Ca. boy do you guys love to rub it in. Signed a cold Cobra owner from Chicago.

Warren wants us to change the tire sizes for him--since the ones he wants have to be ordered maybe we should mount up some studded snow tires so he can drive it this weed-end

Hmmmmm

120 mile cruise on Sunday.

From the East Bay of San Francisco, across the bay bridge, went to the Pacific and turned South to Half Moon Bay.

Left at noon and got back about 6 PM.....stops for food, wine and conversation. A little cold after the sun went down but, a great ride.

I drove mine Sunday. Warmed it up through the neighborhood, zipped up and down 90/94, cruised through River North, across the river, headed south on Lake Shore Drive, then the cold rain started to fall so I headed for home. I didn't want to have to but her away too dirty... too hard to wash the car in the dark and at 30 degrees and colder...

Bob Marshall 01-09-2007 11:31 AM

Saturday January 6th we had a record warm day here in Eastern PA....72 degrees....and yes the Cobra got a work out for 3 hours...and loved it

Igofastr 01-09-2007 11:53 AM

Drove for an hour on Sunday. Drove it to work yesterday and today. :)

ROUSHAC 01-09-2007 06:58 PM

Jerry,

When it is too cold to drive we pour a little nitro mixed with just enough alky to light on an old stump in the garage light it and sniff the fumes. The bench racing starts very quickly thereafter.**)

I'm pretty sure this doesn't account for much for you guys out in the east and mid-west... but just about every day this past week :) Although, that is about to change.

Jerry Clayton 01-10-2007 07:50 AM

Eschaider

I assume you know of some of my past---nitro, racing, tell all of the bench racers I said hello

Jerry,
Its never cold when I'm driving my cobra. Don't know what it is, but I never even think about cold when I in the cobra and that keeps me warm. To me cobra = warm.

I think I'll get the shoulder belt for just the driver side. I'll need it for the drag strip. I'm also thinking about adding a third tail light on the deck just before the trunk. John Spina has one on this cobra. John say it was from a 98 Chev Blazer. That makes the brake light more visible.
