Warren,
Why not post all the information you emailed us on Club Cobra so prospective members can meet up with us? That way you can get their headcount also?

Sid,
This is a Club event. Any prospective members need to join WCCC to be a part of this event. If you have some prospective members, and need an application for them let me know and I'll forward one to you.
Thanks, Warren

No club money is being spent for this event so it is open to everyone, WCCC member of not. This type of event is a great place to meet new members for our club. You can contact me for membership applications thru our club email (WindyCityCobraClub@Comcast.net) or you can get a copy of it in person from most of our WCCC club members, and then the application is forwarded to me for processing...(until August of 2008)...So new members are welcome to attend this event with us...

I'll take option 3A - I'll save the cool guys a seat @ Penny road pub after a nice drive in the country. I get to sleep in late, have a leisurely breakfast, & the prospective members can ride along with me & still get to meet up with the gang. Assuming of course that Penny Road Pub isn't being reserved for WCCC members only.

The Victor Ford event is open to everone and anyone, but the email I sent to all the WCCC members was for WCCC members. Sid asked that I post this email on Club Cobra and open it to prospective members. The event is the run and lunch after Victor Ford show. I have never seen a WCCC event open to everyone. IF you guys want to have none club members join in on our events, it your call, I just a member that volunteered to run this event for the WCCC members, I not an WCCC Director.

Just a clarification:
In general, any event that the WCCC sponsors that does not involve the use of club moneys is open to everyone, members or not. The exceptions have historically been the club picnic, our holiday party and a few of the poker runs where club funds were used. There have also been events at people's homes too that were for members only, but not really club events.
Most non-members who do join us at an open club event, join our club after it is apparent the we are (spoken with a Slovakian accent)... "a bunch of wild and crazy guys" As I remember, last year Ward and his son came with us the Victor Ford event...

Sid,
As for the cars, they haven't stacked any on top of each other during the past two years, but who knows, this may be the year they put a FFR on top of your Backdraft.

Warren, I think the club should be more inclusive than that statement indicates. If someone owns a Cobra, we should WELCOME them to join us at ANY event and provide all of the information they need to attend.
And, if someone wants to go to a WCCC club event, but they aren't a member, we should invite them to go and they can join (i.e. fill out the paper and pay their $20) when they get there.
The whole 'dues' thing was started just to give the club some structure and provide money for a picnic, flyers, cards, etc. Not to say "umm, sorry, but we're in, you're out." With the small number of Cobras in the area, the club needs to be inclusive, not exclusive. We don't need exclusionary policies over a measly $20.
