Default UTI & The WINDY CITY COBRA CLUB - August 23

UTI has invited the WINDY CITY COBRA CLUB again to their open house August 23…

Sounds like they are willing to do a little training class again for us…
I know those who attended their Spring event and training were very happy with the hands on training….

So contact me with any suggestions for a training session and I’ll pass it on to Ed at UTI.

Let me know if you plan to attend….and a topic of interest for the training class…

Default Uti car show and class session

Looks like 4 others so far:
Jeff K, Eric L, Rich M, Mark K.

Possible topics for classroom session are:
Carburetion.
Forced induction vs. carburetion.
MSD ignition systems.

Anyone else planning on coming and have any special interest in a class session? I need to get Ed suggestions...

Those are all good subjects for you guys, but if you'd like another suggesstion, try brake systems-----possibly even touching on parking brakes

Or electrical systems----especially proper sized wiring, relays, and grounds

How about touching on going too fast in wet curves, sliding off the road, hitting solid objects and breaking axles, among other things!

Any others planning on attending?
Any other suggestion for a class session?
Looking like another "non-event" event?

I think the reasons for lack of responses are:

1. The guys who are the builders of their cars probably have enough knowledge that they don't want to sit in a classroom and re-hash old stuff.

2. Then there are the guys who are the buyers of their cars who have little knowledge and are not interested in the mechanics of the beast.

3. Also a third group who may be interested in the mechanics but realize that one or two sessions a year may be of very little help.

Just my 3 cents worth.

#4. Very busy time of year.

#5. Rather be driving than in a classroom this time of year.

Hey- Just wanted to remind you guys about the show this Saturday. Ed and I are looking forward to seeing the club out again. We are having a big car show on site besides the usual Open House festivities. Please bring your cars out and join us for lunch and a great show. Show is free entry and has trophies. Should be a great time. Hope many from the club can make it!

We had only 4 people respond positively this year...
No concensus on a training class this time.
And it appears to conflict with the Autobahn Vintage Track Event...
So hopefully a few will still show up from the club.
Next Spring for sure.....

I'll be out of town...I would like to have been there. UTI was a blast last time I went. I highly recommend anyone that can make it show up. They took care of us and if it gets dark out you may see a "blue one" doing some tire testing Hee hee hee!!!
