Talking Any Cruising This Weekend?

Any plans for cruising this weekend? There probably is but I didn't get the new code for my decoder ring.
Come on guys, the summer is almost over and the weather is great, suggest something! I'm gonna make a run to South Elgin at the Mc Donald's on Randall Road to see if Sid and Rich are hogging the show.
Gotta go now, it's already 6:30! I'll buy ice cream if anybody shows up!

I was going to take a ride this sunday, but I'm done with Apple Villa & I don't want to stomp on Blas' Snake & Eggs. So only if you were not going to Apple Villa, Let me know if you want to take a 2hour excursion on the back roads leaving my house about 8:30-9:00 AM

Blas, No problem with Apple Villa. Kim isn't a fan of their food (?) & it's gettin' pretty familiar. I knew I'd get in a little trouble for this but it's why I posted on Ralphie's topic.
Just want to spend the couple hours driving, I could use to skip the breakfast anyway.

Uh, uh, I may have to skip breakfast for a ride in the country.
Mike, I have a suggestion, unless we are heading south or west from your house, let's meet up futher north since Sten is coming from Woodstock. In case we are going towards Lake Geneva we can meet at a more northerly point.
What say you?

Thumbs up

What a great little Sunday morning 100 mile jaunt Sten led our small group on. It started with four of us, Sten, Wolfie, Mike and I, at the edge of Sycamore (Mike's house), meeting up with Mark and Laura on the Woodstock Square.

We hit some very hilly and curvy back roads on the way to get some lunch in Fontana but because of the beautiful weather it was just too crowded to even find a few parking places, so we left to do more searching for a bite to eat.
Our persistance paid off when Sten pulled into this little Irish bar and restaurant in Delavan for what we all agreed on, the best 1/2 pound burgers that we've had in a long time. This little place will have to be a "Must Stop" if we ever go cruising anywhere near this location.

Hope next time more "Cobra Nuts" will join us for some very spirited driving before the roads will be covered with snow.

If you get out near the Lake Geneva area, here is the name and address for this great burger place. Yes, they do serve beer, but I'm proud to say that Laura the navigator, was the only lush in our group.

Mulligan"s Sports Pub & Grill
188 Highway 50
Delavan, WI 53155

A lot of Cobras and Mustangs and open wheeled racers and more... on the track at Road America (nice back roads cruise) this past weekend. Factory Five spec racers, Super unlimited cars, even a bare metal brushed aluminum...
Met the builder and driver of the second car to finish the 1977 24 Hours of Daytona as well. He had his beautiful old car out in competition.

Hey Speed, slightly earlier notification about events like this would be great! We know our Cobras are fast but not fast enough to make up two lost days! Well, maybe big Al's Cobra might do it!

That cruise was a good one! Mike, sorry we lost you on the trip.Had a bit of a rocky start, but it turned out not too bad.Roller -coaster road earns its name if you take it at the right rate of speed. Was thinking of going this Sunday, but there's a show at the HOOTERS in Crystal Lake.Maybe I'll go to get some wings.(right)
Till next time,
Sten

The Annual Hampshire Car Show and Swap Meet is supposed to be on this Sunday, but haven't seen any fliers circulating about it. Anyone have info about this usually well-attended show?
