Blas, I won't have the cobra ready to go but plan to drive up and attend. Sound like there will be good group of cars to check out. See you there.

I just registered for the Volo Show.

I believe the poker run on Sunday will have us visiting the Volo auto museum. We should keep an eye out for any restaurants seen on the way which could be the Snake & Eggs location.

Since most folks will be heading north up Rand Road, Rt 12 to Volo, might I suggest the friendly confinds of Lake Zurich as a meeting place for Snake & Eggs on August 1st. There are three restaurants right on RT.12 as you go through Lake Zurich. Walker Brothers, Omega Pancake House, and Alpine which are all good breakfast facilities.
If this sounds like a good location to eat, let me know and I'll take the lead on the finding us the best place and seeing if I can get us some reduced grub fees. I'll take parking facilities into consideration as well. I've got a few other places I haven't eaten at that I'll check out as well if everyone feels this is a good location. Volo will be about 20 minutes from here.

Gary,

The good thing about Walker Brothers is that Bennigans is directly next door on the north side of the building. Since Bennigans is not open that early in the morning we should be able to park in front of their business and keep or cars together. I'll be in Bennigans Thursday night ($2.50 pints of Guinness and everything else on tap) and can ask the manager if they have a problem with us using their parking lot.

I have not eaten at the newly open Omega Pancake House to comment on the food. From a parking stand point, we could always use the Dominicks parking lot right next door. The only possible draw back is the parking lot is down the hill from the restaurant which would limit our ability to watch the cars while we eat, if that is anyones concern.

I have eaten at White Alps many of times. You can expect to get good food at a reasonable price. Their parking lot can be very tight sometimes. Perhaps we could park across the street in the office building that may be unattended. I think there is a tire store just east of the restaurant that in past years has held car shows. They might welcome us to draw in some business.

I'll take a look around and you and I should talk about what will work out best.

Mark

Default White Alps

Mark,
I like the White Alps option although it's just east off Rt. 12. I believe the Goodyear Store next door is closed on Sunday's so that lot is definitely available. I'm not expecting we'll have a huge number of cars so maybe we can ask the restaurant if we can block off a few spots near Rt.22 away from the front entrance. I could rope it off, late Saturday night. We'd only need it say 8:30 to 9:30. Would definitely be a draw for other hungry patrons driving by. Bank lot across the street would also work!

Gary,

Just drove by White Alps. Their parking lot may be fairly filled Sunday morning but directly adjacent to the west is a strip center parking lot. I doubt Verizion Wireless, Fantastics Sams, etc..... will be open Sunday morning. We would have plenty of room to park there and still see them from our table if we get the right booths in the restaurant. The next best would be the bank parking lot across the street. The goodyear store is a 100 yards or so east of the restuarant. Too far away I think.

Just reading some of your post and I wish we had a Club Condo here in Tulsa or one in MAUI would be equally nice.

How did your car show go? Any big winners from your club?

Never mind and I see it has been rescheduled for Aug 24, 2008. Good luck and take home some trophy's.
