B8A-8100-A 1963-64 version

This is the common radiator cap for Cobras using the Ford-McCord supplied coolant expansion tank. Ford used this "part number" for various vehicles 1957 (starting with 1958 model year) through approximately 1966. That does not mean the same tools and same exact details were used all those years. Early caps included a "B8A" text on one ear of the cap.

2017 East Meets West Cobra 1000 Tour

CSX2551 starting up a snow covered pass behind CSX2497. The higher we went the worse conditions got and the more snow there was on the road. That road grader up front only led part of the way.

anemometer

Adding a Spal pusher increased wind speed (behind the puller) by 23.2%. Not sure how that translates to volume.

Paxton SN93 cutaway

I always wanted to know how these things worked, so I cut up a junked one at my machine shop (at work). It still spins. If I cut deeper (including the races) to show the friction balls then I'll loose that ability, so it sits for now.

cobra crash

This Emerson cobra was built to save its driver. The gas tank did not rupture. The head rest saved the drivers life. No other cobra has the safety built into it that is standard in an Emerson.

Original Cobra From My Home Town

A Cobra comes home: Now worth $1 million, rare car returns to Lincoln. The last time this car was in Lincoln, its owner had just finished grad school and had no idea it could make him a millionaire.

Steve Woehrle paid $5,300 for the second-hand Shelby Cobra from an O Street corner car dealer in 1973, and now he was shifting it into drive and running north out of town, first to a teaching gig in South Dakota and then to a long-term tenure in Minnesota.

Woehrle and his Cobra are returning to Lincoln next weekend, but the retired professor won’t be behind the wheel. Instead, the car he bought 45 years ago will arrive by truck and trailer, with a security detail and an estimated value of more than $1 million.

College student bought this 1965 AC Shelby Cobra in Lincoln for $5,300 in 1975. Today, it has estimated value of more than $1 million. The car is on display at Okoboji Classic Cars but will return to Lincoln July 13-15 during the Mustang Club of America’s national show outside Pinnacle Bank Arena.
