Winter Snake
I used to use cardboard to keep oil and coolant temps up on my daily drives to work. Now use a Beaumont adjustable oil temp setup. Works great, and now a much "cleaner" appearance in the winter.

TDC fixture used to support dial indicator
found this worked better than the magnetic base which always seemed to creep...this is quite solid.

Overall Hinge length
The title of the picture is the measurement of the item. This is modifying a Street Beast stock hinge, by adding a piece of 4" pipe in the middle. I used it on my car and I get about 22" of door opening.
