Details

Many OEM pieces lend originality.
Correct Moto Lita split-ring steering wheel and silver Cobra center cap, gauges, shifter, seats etc.
Notice the aluminum door moulding. It's just kitchen counter trim, but looks like
the trim on an original.

Chassis - Front

This is the front of the West Coast chassis. It was designed to accept (as standard) a 460 engine. Mine has the optional 7 core radiator. Flex-A-Lite 150 fan (2800 cfm). A very heavy but rigid frame. 11 inch ventilated discs. Got it as a 'rolling chassis', so the build quality and alignment of parts are not questionable. Rides like 'on a rail'.

Naked 533 cid EFI

A look at Naja's powerplant with most of the 'accessories' off of it. Atop is a 1200 cfm Accel throttle body, then a Torker II manifold (a significant restriction for this engine), to the new Edelbrock 6066 aluminum heads, 65 lb. Siemens injectors (supplied by an Aeroequip pump). Custom grind roller CompCam with .662 i/e lift, solid lifters, roller rockers under the custom valve cover by Innovation West (only ones like them in the world). A medium stoker with .080 overbore gives 533 cid. Wiseco pistons have 18cc dish to give 9.8:1 compression ratio. I was surprised when the redline was set at 7k, but the 2 people doing the engine work said it would have no trouble handling it.

It dyno'd at 491 hp (5200 rpm) and 548 ft-lbs (4700 rpm) - remember the Torker II being a huge restriction. It was built with reliability (first) in mind, then for torque. The lowest rpm that they data logged during the dyno was 2600, and it was already doing 525 ft-lbs.

This powers a C6 tranny leading to a 9 inch, live rear end with a 2.73 running gear. Haven't run it on the road much, but have gotten over 15 mpg on two, short trips. Spark control completely MSD including 7AL-2, Pro Power HVC coil, billet distributor with Pro cap. All of this is managed by a SpeedPro ECU. It idles at about 950 rpm.

Unique Graphics

Among the many unique features of 'Naja evolvere' is the ghosted graphics on the exterior. Ghosting is somewhat common on darker colored, custom cars, but it is almost unheard of on a white base. This is because it is EXTREMELY difficult. The graphics artist and I were ecstatic over the results. Like this picture, most photos do not do the large snake on the hood justice. It was meant to be subtle - most people don't even see it unless they look at it for more than a glance. In bright sunlight, it changes shades from a dull, light grey to a bright, irridescent blue. I also have subtle, 'snakeskin' stripes (the customary dimensions) on the rear. You must observe it in person to gain an appreciation for it! The base is a pearl white.

A little helper....

This little guy surprised me. He doesn't like cars, but he jumped right in and wire brushed the frame, in his bare socks no less.

ARE Wheels Rear

10-07-02. These are the current wheels on the car. They're A.R.E. rims. They are not correct, I know, but for the time being, they will have to do. This is with the center piece on. They look OK, but I like them without better.

tunnel port fuel injection

This is a custom made mechanical fuel injection system for a 427 tunnel port. The throttle bodies are made by Tecalemit-Jackson, an English company, who made fuel injection systems for road racing. These are the 52mm throttle bodies, as compared to the 48mm. Each throttle body bolts on separately, to a weber 48IDA bolt pattern. This particular system has been modified to a hilborn style fuel metering system, a continuous flow, and doesn't have the Tecalemit-Jackson metering system. As there are no venturi's in the throttle bodies, which restrict flow, these 52mm throttle bodies shouyld flow as good as 58mm webers.

The intake is an original 427 tunnel port that has been extensively modified, I'm not sure if it was modified by someone like Holman-Moody ( a Tecalemit-Jackson dealer), or it was done in someone's garage, but it looks like it was done right.
