3rd gear data

3rd gear G-tech data vs. changes Superformance 2040 with Roush 427R-095

The power values represented are G-tech HP. This should not be confused with any other method of testing HP. It's only a number of reference.

Just as wheel HP on a chassis dyno is lower than flywheel HP because of additional drive line loss, the G-tech HP is lower than chassis dyno due to additional resistance such as aero drag and road resistance, even amount of air in tires would have a factor. As speed increases aero drag as well as other rolling resistance increase. For example as an estimate @ 50 mph there is an equivalent of approximately -12 HP, @ 100 mph -90 HP, @ 130 mph right about -200 HP for the shape of the Cobra.

Vintage Wheel with Adapter

Aluminum wheel with machined hubcentric adapter for Jaguar spindle, forged and polished spinners, center cap, and includes anti-theft option which stops spinner from coming off if wire is not used. Now, I will set out to tone down the shine a bit and change center appearance to gold as per magnesium Halibrand casting.

Vintage Wheel and Adapter

This wheel includes polished forged spinners, machined hubcentric adapters specific to hub, anti-theft safety option, and center cap. Very high quality parts with a great finish. Should be considered during any build or muscle car upgrades.

Starting to install hubcentric adapters from Vintage Wheel on the CCX

My how the dust settles over and under the car during the winter. Pulled the cover back to start installation of Vintage Wheel pin drive adapters. These parts have been machined prior to shipping to fit perfectly on the Jaguar spindle. Spinners are forged / polished and include Vintage Wheels Safety:Anti-Theft option. This option will not allow spinner to come off without removal of the safety pins.

Chassis Dyno - Last Run 427 High Riser

Self built 427 SO, stock stroke, 429 ci., Dove aluminum High Riser heads, mildly ported, 10.5 : 1 CR, original holley 780 cfm LeMans carb, vacuum secondary, on an original single four BBL , dual plane, Hi-Riser intake. Chassis Dyno is at Performance Engineering, Hamilton, OH.

Carb jets changed, and timing adjusted by Performance Engineering. Picked up 80 ft-lbs torque and 60 hp by chassis dyno tuning.

With a 20% loss, estimated max flywheel torque is about 600, with about 570 flywheel HP at 5900 rpm's and still climbing.

The torque curve is pretty flat.

Vintage Wheel with billboards

Spring is near and this project needs to move forward. Vintage Wheel with forged and polished spinner with optional anti-theft fittings. This adds additional safety since it prevents spinner from coming off while on the move.

Installation of hoop portion of rollbar.

In process of rollbar installation. Bar was custom bent to 60's CSX specifications by Mickmate. Once the fishmouth is welded the tail portion of bar will be added. All bolt points are to frame making it functional via 0.120" wall tubing. Almost ready for paint and grommets.
