Hilborn FE 427 High Riser head Fuel injection

This a 1960's Hilborn Fuel injection system for a ford 427 with High Riser heads. The system consisted of two pieces, two banks of 4 throttle bores, of 2 7/16" diameter, that are bolted to the top of the intake. I believe the intake has the 58mm weber bolt pattern and spacing. As you can see, the throttle bores are straight up, not canted at all. A somewhat rare intake. It has been polished, and no identification marks are visable. This should make alot of top end power.

Hilborn Fuel injection for a Ford 427 High Riser on a 58mm weber intake

This a 1960's Hilborn Fuel injection system for a ford 427 with High Riser heads. The system consisted of two pieces, two banks of 4 throttle bores, of 2 7/16" (62mm) diameter, that are bolted to the top of the intake. I believe the intake has the 58mm weber bolt pattern and spacing. As you can see, the throttle bores are straight up, not canted at all. A somewhat rare intake. 48mm IDA weber vs 58mm weber intakes

On the top is a new blue thunder 48mm IDA intake, with a 10 degree canted mount angle.

Below is a 1960's Hilborn Fuel injection system for a ford 427 with High Riser heads. It has been polished, and no identification marks are visable. This should make alot of top end power. I unbolted one of the fuel injection throttle body castings to expose the mating surface of the intake.

As you compare the two intakes, you can see the larger bolt pattern of the 58mm weber intake, as well as the larger ports. There isn't enough of material on a 48IDA intake to redrill for a 58mm pattern.

My Yellow car

Yellow 1967 427 Corvette.
Bloomington Survivor, Bloomington Gold, Bloomington Benchmark, NCRS Top Flight. Completly original, unrestored car down to the 37 year old tires. Not as fast as the Cobra, but lots of fun.

We are Proud Safety is our #1 Concern

All our cars have this chassis. It is considered a space frame with the tunnel, firewall and driveshaft tunnel all being part of the frame and not the body. We have a steel firewall & tunnel not fiberglass

Cobra's Eye View of Drivetrain Installation, by Helicopter?

View from engine bay of 351W & T-5 install, 10/24/2004. Note: remove clutch slave cylinder before install or rotate it 180 degrees with hose pointing downward. Be careful, very close fit in this area. Wink Looks like a helicopter, because of ceiling fan in background!

Hawk built 289 Kirkham

Picture the scene. A crisp English Autumn Sunday morning, the smell of the leather, breath forming ever-more rapid clouds of anticipation in front of your face....the chatter of the fuelpump signals you to hit the starter and the tailpipes joyously bark the awakening of 8 cylinders of pure adrenalin....just for you. The sweeping country roads beckon you out, nothing else matters now, it`s just you and your Cobra.
