Shell Valley build
Holes were cut and the main roll bar hoop installed. Roll bar and down legs were made out of 2 inch DOM .120 wall mild steel tubing. Bending was done by Boyce Industries in Melrose Park, IL.

Shell Valley build
Rear roll bar down legs were notched and fitted. The first one was the hardest. After the correct angle and length were determined, the second one was a breeze. Good thing, since we broke Buddy's 2 inch hole saw while finishing the notch on the second down leg.

Pic showing the drilling template with 2 holes drilled. In the background is a template I made by putting cling film on the bonnet, and getting the curve into body filler. This mould template was then used to ensure the AC would fit the curve of the bonnet.

Mcleod steel flywheel for 460
This also shows my home made engine plate I made with a jig saw and a nice set of files. Trick was to use the old rusted one as my template and the starter bolt holes and register bore was my datum point to ensure correct starter alignment.

Installed a makeshift bypass system for my Weber Manifold set up. Seems to have cured the cooling system ailments. Also, fuel was getting too warm. I cut oblong holes in the uprights for the fuel log. Seem to have cured that problem also. So much for that yard work today....

Trunk hinge support
When I got this kit the trunk lid and hood were not attached to their frames. So before joining the two together I figured I would give the hinges something solid to bolt to...and also add some strength. The holes are 5/8 and I am making some press fit threaded collars to put in the holes for 3/8 bolts.

hood support close up.
Here you see the steel threaded collars pressed into the 5/8's holes. I didnt want to thread the aluminum for fear of the threads possibly pulling through.
