Chassis Dyno - Last Run 427 High Riser

Self built 427 SO, stock stroke, 429 ci., Dove aluminum High Riser heads, mildly ported, 10.5 : 1 CR, original holley 780 cfm LeMans carb, vacuum secondary, on an original single four BBL , dual plane, Hi-Riser intake. Chassis Dyno is at Performance Engineering, Hamilton, OH.

Carb jets changed, and timing adjusted by Performance Engineering. Picked up 80 ft-lbs torque and 60 hp by chassis dyno tuning.

With a 20% loss, estimated max flywheel torque is about 600, with about 570 flywheel HP at 5900 rpm's and still climbing.

The torque curve is pretty flat.

1965 Oldsmobile 442

This is my first car. I bought it in 1980, while in HS, for $1100, and still have it. It's a 1965 Olds 442. Original 400 ci engine, rochester 4GC carb, and close ratio muncie M-21 tranny, originally 3.55 posi rear, now 3.36.

The first year for the 442 was 1964. That car came with a HiPo 330 ci engine, and only a 4 spd tranny. 442 stood for 4 spd, 4 BBL, dual exhaust.

For 1965, 442 stood for 400 ci engine, 4 BBL carb, Dual exhaust. Has factory rear sway bar . There were about 3500 1965 442 convertibles made, of which about 1600 were 4 spds. This car was originally Saffron yellow, a pale yellow, but I painted it burgundy while in HS.
