Roll bars
I have braced my roll bar fore-and-aft, and welded-in side impact braces, too. Still looks "period-correct" from the outside, but provides a little extra protection.

radiator modification
Constantly overheated so changed to a moulded and extended CJ-7 combination. Temp stays at 180 degs even in traffic with the little 10" pusher fan on . That's in 97 deg. afternoon sun, our typical afternoon. Measured engine bay, too narrow for any modern V-8 or V-6 so have been looking at a Supra in-line six with turbo(s) to put the oomph into the drive.
