2000 Johnex Shelby Cobra Replica
2000 Johnex Shelby Cobra Replica, designed by Can-Am Motosports, out Toronto, Canada, This one owner, lady driven cobra, arrived Turn Key from Johnex Motorsports in Nov., 2000. This is not a donor (completely assembled with new, custom automotive parts). This Cobra is not your average replica; Johnex commissioned one of the most successful race-chassis design firms in North America, CSC Racing (Canadian Stock Car), to design this frame. The "space" or "three dimensional" frame is a stronger, race ready frame, designed to handle race tuned, big block power unlike the weaker "ladder" or "two-dimentional" frames used on most other replicas. The powder coated tubular frame uses 2" x 4" rectangular steel tubing as the main perimeter rail and 1 3/4" tubular upper frame rails with a triple cowl hoop for addtional support. Johnex has since changed hands after the production of this Cobra and is now Johnex 3. This replica is comparable to the more well know Superformance and ERA replicas.

stainless tank
The stainless tank is in place, Diff just about fully done. I noticed bent axles in the donor and sourced a pair in Darwin. New bearings pressed on, a bit of paint and doesn't look too bad.

Donor car and Factory Five Project
donor car 91 Mustang, if your looking at this pic and considering building a Cobra, don't even bother with a donor car, lot of work, mostly junk I didn't even use.

All the lights are installed and functioning perfectly, we are amazed no cliches from our wire trimming the original wire harness from my donor car.

Wiper Mechanism
Built a slider mechanism to convert the donor car wiper motor into a normal cobra push-pull assembly. The throw is adjustable to obtain the correct wiper angle.
I did this because:
1.Commodore replacement motor will be easyto get in future
2.Plugs easily into the harness giving full functionality
3.Cheap - came with the donor car!
