427 Hi-Riser engine
427 SO, aluminum HiRiser heads, 780 Holley Lemans carb, 10.5:1 CR, bored 0.017" over, displacement 429 cubic inches. Engine built to replicate a lightweight competition engine.
Chassis dyno tuned - Got 454 rwhp @ 5900 rpm's and still climbing, and 488 rwtq @ 3900 rpm's.

All cars tested by Greg Schroeder in same location, same G-tech Competition meter, correct calibration with 12 inch rollout standing start stage. Representation has a slight variant of exact comparison due to different days of testing. CSX 2002 Engine Bay
CSX 2002 with Ford 289 cubic inch small block. 1967 competition engines were claimed to develop a maximum of 390 horse power at 6750 RPM. This 1962 version, the first competition engine, probably made significantly less.
