2000 Johnex Shelby Cobra Replica
2000 Johnex Shelby Cobra Replica, designed by Can-Am Motosports, out Toronto, Canada, This one owner, lady driven cobra, arrived Turn Key from Johnex Motorsports in Nov., 2000. This is not a donor (completely assembled with new, custom automotive parts). This Cobra is not your average replica; Johnex commissioned one of the most successful race-chassis design firms in North America, CSC Racing (Canadian Stock Car), to design this frame. The "space" or "three dimensional" frame is a stronger, race ready frame, designed to handle race tuned, big block power unlike the weaker "ladder" or "two-dimentional" frames used on most other replicas. The powder coated tubular frame uses 2" x 4" rectangular steel tubing as the main perimeter rail and 1 3/4" tubular upper frame rails with a triple cowl hoop for addtional support. Johnex has since changed hands after the production of this Cobra and is now Johnex 3. This replica is comparable to the more well know Superformance and ERA replicas.

Shell Valley build
We finished welding on the frame and gave it its first coat of black paint. Half the paint went on the frame, 1/4 of it went on the drop cloth, and the other 1/4 went on Buddy and myself. I had to take a shower in paint thinner!

Another new toy !! Newbomb Turk's 1956 Pie Wagon
This 1956 Chevrolet sedan delivery was mildly hot rodded in the 1970's, with a 327 and automatic transmission, and painted orange. It was placed for sale in the front yard, and purchased by Columbia Pictures in 1979 for an upcoming movie, "Hollywood Knights". Graphics were added to the side panels, and rear door hatch, transforming into the main character's car, Newbomb Turk's Pie Wagon, featuring Robert Wuhl. After the filming was completed, selected movie theater owners were entered in a raffle, and the winner won this vehicle, residing in the Massachusets area. After 15 years, the car was sold locally to a "Chevy" parts guru. He removed the body, cleaning / sand blasting the frame, rebuilding the suspension, and transplanting in a new crate 350 with a muncie 4 speed. The exterior of the car, and interior of the car was left in the same condition that it has when it appeared in the movie. Great car.
