It was not ridiculous at all. It only becomes ridiculous when people like yourself do not understand what is being discussed. Today it is computer code, but maybe tomorrow it will be your steering or your brakes that the manufacturers will petition the government not to allow you to modify or repair.

This article and many like it were posted on many car forums and there were a lot of intelligent replies. Sorry you could not fit into that category.
