Thanks for your link as it has greatly answered some of my questions.

Can you make me a "ferrel" so I can fab a bracket on the rear of the top where its close to the trunk?

I would like to have an extra bit of hold down in that area.

Here is where I am so far, The taking it on/off for fitting is maddening, but it has to be done.
