Cobra Make, Engine: being built

Thank you for the information.

I am a little bit confused. You mean your drove your car to the Greenfield office with no plates or any kind of permit? What would have happened if you were stopped? Or did you pick up some sort of temporary permit to drive it? Also, did you need to pick up any other paperwork before you go to register the car?

What kind of inspection did they do? I assume brake and lights, but what else was involved? Did they check for just safety issues?

It sounds fairly easy, but are there any "tricks" to make it simple and fast. I have been reading about the guys in California and the horrible process there. It seems much better here, and your experience bears that out.

I am having a Factory Five built by a guy in California. However, he called last night and said he has an almost new Backdraft he bought and that I should look at it. He can sell the Factory Five to another guy easily who really wants it. Any ideas on what I should do? The engine for the Factory Five is still being built, and I could have the Backdraft tomorrow if I want as it is complete. In fact it has the exact engine I have on order.

I am not too sure about Backdraft. What are your experiences so far? I am not the mechanical type, so I had to have someone else build my car. All I know about Factory Five is from riding in one and hearing about all its strengths. I suppose both are OK, which one would you choose?
