Respectfully, being capable of breaking into the 11's is not the same as running low 11's all day long. Most of our cars are set up for handling, many have notchy shifting transmissions (such as a TKO), only a minority run drag radials, track prep is a big factor, and as you stated there is the driver skill factor.

Most Cobras run 12's. I'm not one of them, but it's the norm. Cheers.

That is the name of the game. Very few Cobras at the drags do anything good. Very disappointing to watch them. You have to be able to hook and shift (unless ya have a auto in it)

I met a fellow with a FFR with a 4.6 DOHC 32 valve Modular in it, at a drag strip during the London Ohio Cobra show. Bone stock ~280 Hp. I was shocked at how slow it was. My memory is shot, but it seems like it was running high 13's.

It was very new (nice car) and he wasn't beating on it hard. I'm sure it could have done a 1/2 second faster.

Hot Fingers is running in the 9's. He knows drag racing and he knows how to set up the suspension to transfer weight to the back wheels. He is running an automatic. I'm thinking he is somewhere near 600 ponies or more. He could enlighten us a bit on this subject, if he sees this.
