I'm going to let you off the hook. You won't back up your claims because you can't; the evidence just doesn't exist. I'll just attribute your outburst to Scared Old White Man syndrome and hope that evidence-based pragmatism finds you in your laters years.

People like Danr55, and Santorum, Pailn, Cruz, Huckabee, etc. are the reason that I no longer call myself a Republican. I've been an independent since the 2000s when the mainstream Republican party started to... get a little kooky.

I believe in market solutions and I believe in common sense realities and the necessity to defend ourselves against a dangerous world. 20 years ago that would have made a me a Republican.

The problem is that now to be a Republican I also have to be homophobic. I have to count the number of times people go to church. I have to deny facts and think scientific research is a long con. I have to think poor people are getting a sweet ride. And I have to have such a stunning inferiority complex that I fear education and intellect in the 21st Century. Most of all, the biggest new requirement-–the only requirement-–is that I have to hate Democrats.
