Kyosho makes the ducks nuts of diecast models....this one is 1:12 so it's about 18" long

I spotted one in a kit shop in Vietnam for about $350.00 but couldn't fit it in my luggage, should have made it fit!

It may have fit if you realized it was about 13" long-not 18".

Step away from the model shops Mr Buckley, you need to stop collecting now. It becomes a sickening disease. You will find yourself wandering the aisles of department store toy sections, model shops, tobaconist kiosks, flea markets, or anywhere you are likely to find these little 4 wheel wonders.
I have amassed in excess of 50 now, from ones as small as 15mm to a radio controlled one over 400mm. I used to put thm in the display cabinet but that is now full so they're still in their box's in my top cupboard.
My saving grace was setting some rules; collect only cobras, don't spend over $100 on a single item (I've missed out on some nice Kyosho and such with ths rule), buy only what I come across -no mail order (though this rule was broken in pursuit of some cobra slot cars). Theres a mix of quality in there, some good one from brand names, some average ones from brand names (maisto) and a mix of toy based ones, even a clay look one.
The 289 is was the most difficult to get, I have a couple of these now, one from ToysRus recently.

I know! my wife knew before i walked in the door, as my daughter had a brand new doll in her hand, first words from wife "what have you bought now!", i have about 50 model cars and have been told to move them to the shed. but i must admit i couldnt walk past this model for $12 it looks better than the photos, amazing amount of detail for such a cheap price, i have looked at the fraklin mint cobra in the local hobby shop, but @ $235, i would rather spend that on the one in the garage.

...How and why the local sellers here continue to ask $550 to $650 for these 1:12 is beyond me!!!
