theirs been a lot of good ideas but I use
natural bees wax ...just warm it in a bucket of water then rub it on & buff the access off
may use a bit of elbow grease but doesn't cause the tyre to crack
an old bloke that I meet at a vintage car show used it all his life [ passed away 2 years ago]
now I own the 36 hump back tourer the tyres only need a buff with a cloth now & again to bring them up
